Are we ignoring the fact that design could completely alter the efficiency of a program? If three programms are pulling data from the same source, the most like to be used is the one with the better layout. There's a reason why everyone starts with Duolingo and doesn't jump straight into Anki, Anki is just, for a lack of a better word, clunky looking. It's the first thing you learn in a basic design class, so I am afraid I'll have to disagree. Just because something is the source doesn't mean that it should be what is used due to that merit.

I doubt that's what either of us was criticising. Personally, I'm not particularly fond of how much "Wörter Vogel" is missing in terms of basic information pertaining a noun or verb. That, paired with the fact that the creator said they'd add more functionality whlist marketing their app as "minimalist", makes me question why I shouldn't just use the actual website they get their information from

Minimalist isn't that far fetched, I mean even with more functionality. Heck, using Wiktionary is a pain on the phone, so much so that anything would be better. Had he said he didn't pull his data from there, how would you critique it? That's the base of it, isn't it?

But I agree with the points you guys put up, for sure. One's got to always compare his product with the competition. The design is great ( pretty and cool colours) and the functionality would definitely be super if the layout is made to give the information as advertised. If it could offer something more than that, definitely an advantage. The question remains, what more could it offer?

yep, it's cus there's an inactive (hopefully) volcano there, olivine isnt too stable at the surface so you only really get it up here when it's erupted out and coated with basalt, they're called olivine bombs - they look like normal if slightly rounded rocks until you crack them open
