So yeah, dative isn't just for indirect objects, it's also for location which awnsers the question "Wo?" So in this case, it's just a location which doesn't change (there is also with accusative the same thing but it's when you go somewhere) So just ask yourself the question "Wo?" and see if there is eventually a verb which tells you you should use dative (bleiben, sein...) and the accusative ones which are othen fahren and gehen. Since we talked about the case for dative, also wanted talk about the accusative one that way you can learn both at the same time. 😉
