Plus I guess it's going to be slightly more B level than the usual A level.
Since we're all B.
Hey, can I join in?
You can read in advance if you want or not, your choice.
Yes, Macaco.
But we didn't choose a time yet I think.
And the text is Rumpelstiltskin from Grimms.
And if we finish it quickly, we can pick another at the time.
Spoiler: he gets memed over
😄
😄
Arrememeskin
Sounds good
Ach wie gut, dass niemand weiß, dass ich Rumpelmemer heiß'
On the 19th of June, 1941, Soviet explorers opened Tamerlane's tomb, the outside of which was inscribed with the words: Whomsoever opens my tomb will unleash a conqueror greater and less magnanimous than I.
a few days later, Operation Barbarossa opened the Eastern Front of World War II, the largest military engagement in human history.
A few years later, the Soviets buried Tamerlane's tomb with full Muslim rites, and a few weeks later, the Battle of Stalingrad ended
nah, the soviets has been pushing the german back sinces the battle of moscow, and that is even before stanlingrad's ended. the soviets had the final laugh. they annexed many lands after the war, that is integrated (partially or fully) into the ussr, installed pro-moscow regimes in many nations, which then becomes their satellite states.
sorry Mr. Tamerlane, communism is stronger than your curse

Alrighto Flops. For liddroly every noun you can find, identify the gender, the case and whether it's singular or plural.
I hope that there's not a bunch of mistakes like I usually do.
No that's pretty good. 👌 What about Kaffee and Uhr though? 😛
Oh forgot those.
Let me put those.
I made an attempt, may I share?
Sure why not
1 - Der Mann geht ins Kino.
Mann – Maskulin, Nominativ, Singular
Kino - Neutrum, Akkusativ, Singular
2 - Das Kind spielt mit den Autos.
Kind – Neutrum, Nominativ, Singular
Autos – Neutrum, Dativ, Plural
3 - Nach dem Essen trinken die Leute noch Kaffee.
Essen – Maskulin, Dativ, Singular
Leute – Plural, Nominativ, Plural (kein Singular)
Kaffee – idk, idk, Singular
4 - Die Katze heißt Kassandra.
Katze – Feminin, Nominativ, Singular
5 - In der Garage steht das Auto.
Garage – Feminin, Dativ, Singular
Auto – Neutrum, Akkusativ, Singular
6 - Um acht Uhr verlässt die Nachbarin das Haus.
Uhr – idk, Nominativ, Plural?
Nachbarin – Feminin, Akkusativ, Singular
Haus – Neutrum, Genitiv?, Singular
Ok so I now see that in #5 I got confused by Auto
Also idk what Nachbarin means
Der Kaffee (masculine; singular; accusative?) - die Uhr (singular; and I have no idea)
it's supposed to be a noun?
yeah idk how to treat Uhr
isn't it ~hour~ o'clock?
^
it's o'clock
arrem confuzed us
I think it was purposeful
how would you define o'clock in English, though?
of the clock
that's what I'm saying
a prepositional phrase
is it of the clock?
yep
I don't get the picture lol
Haha it steals the first pic it can find
😂
TIL.
Eh. The Uhr isn't an object here, sure, it's a part of an adverbial phrase (I believe), but it's still a noun. Duden even defines the meaning bestimmte Stunde der Uhrzeit.
Aha. So die Uhr (singular, dative)
@pseudo trail All verbs converted into nouns are neuter. Also, check 5's and 6's subject. And think harder about the role of Haus.
Auto is the subject, Nachbarin is also a subject, and Haus is a direct object
So like if a chunky averbial gets put in front, the verb goes after (verbs like being #2), and then you put the subject and the objects
As for the case, that's a bit weird to determine and not even google gave me any meaningful results about the case. Maybe accusative or something, but eh, it's a weird thing and we can leave it out and accept it as a fixed construct. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
give or take extreme over/underapplying
gasp
Yes, verbs are always #2 in affirmative sentences. And then you place all the other stuff after it.
The way the last sentence is written puts a bit more emphasis on the time. You can rewrite it using the "standard" word order as well, of course.
And then you have Nebensatz....
No.
Eh, she did her thing.
Fläppers finished.
Hi, Flops.
How are you?
Hungry
Can you answer these Floppo? https://i.imgur.com/y9xAq9Q.png
Here Mika. 🍪
Which case do you use for the subject? Nominative.
Which case do you use for the direct object? Accusative.
Which case do you normally use for the indirect object? Dative
Which words ot parta of words change when you use the different cases? The article, and sometimes the end of the word as well you say Freunden and put a -n at plural nouns when they're dative. There's also the -es and -s in Genitive but let's not talk about that.
So Flaps
Yes?
My Sister and I are coming to Paris next year

how fast can I learn French?
lol
I'm studying Spanish to reach A2 to boot starting next week as well 😦
Next year? Eh, you will get A2 I think, B1 in French is reallly hard.
"There's also the -es and -s in Genitive but let's not talk about that." Brilliant 😂
Since it has a lot of words which sound exactly the same and they don't have the same spelling.

Flappors does every noun in Genitive receive -es/-s?
Nope.
Why not?
Because reasons.
urgh, I wonder what I should do to increase my proficiency in Spanish and also French at the same time, while also maintaining but also still improving my German....
Do you know what weak nouns do?
Arrem will eat your liver

Yeah, let's say exactly when we add these additional endings instead of just saying "sometimes".
When do we add -n for dative?
Yup.
Yaaay.
Goodies. And the -(e)s?
Uuuuh. I didn't learn any. 🤷
What's the dative plural of Handy?
Handysn
^^
Yes. If it already ends with -s or -n, you don't add an extra n.
Yeah okay.
As for genitive there are "no" exceptions. There are actually two major exceptions: substantivized adjectives and a thing called weak masculine nouns that doesn't quite follow the normal rules of declension but we'll get to those a bit later.
Ich habe eine Frage zu
weird annoying german grammar
What is with world order when you have double infinitves + haben?!?
I'm talking about instances where haben would normally be put at the very end of the sentence, but goes in the normal #2 spot instead
In subordinate clauses 'haben' stands before the double infinitive
It happens with Konj II espe
Same goes for sein.
Look look I got a whole exercise righto.
Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt auch nicht, was ich hätte anders machen sollen oder wie ich anders hätte lernen können."
You do it to the auxiliary of the compound tense, whether it be 'haben' or 'sein'
But since you're using it with modals, it'll always be haben
I think
And why is the gesagt here too?
Okay, I'm reading this thread
They only mention haben as an exception
AH.
I might be explaining my confusion wrongly
What causes the double infinitive is the presence of the modal verb, and modal verbs always use haben as auxiliary
So in all of these cases it'll indeed be 'haben'
But I don't know if only modal verbs cause double infinitive.
Me neither, maybe there aren't 😄 So what he said is right
Let me think
Yeah, I think there aren't
It's not exclusive to haben, but it mostly happens with it. It can also happen with the werden for the future tense.
Yeah true, so it's important that you remember it's because it's an auxiliary verb, not because it's 'haben' in particular
Er hat gesagt, dass er es wird tun können müssen
Ops
Does that make sense 🤔
He'll have to be able to do it
Yeeeeah I don't follow.
Complete the table Flapporz.
You wanna say
Of course you don't, Floppo. We'll teach you that when you're 30.
Yes
Of course you don't, Floppo. We'll teach you that when you're 30.
WHEN I'LL BE 30 I'LL BE C?
When I'm 30*

instead of it being so complicated, I would probably make it like...
Er hat gesagt, dass er muss, es tun zu können
Maybe. Could be 50 if you take 1.5h for 9 words. Could be 29 if you continue working at this rate. 😛

I think that's not grammatically possible
What's that?
what makes this difficult is the amount of modalverbs and infinitive
modalersatz is a way to not use the modal verbs
so instead of müssen
we use es ist nötig,...
Hum
Eh, the zu is the part that's a bit off.
so how would you fix it, arrem?
I think no matter how it's grammatically corrected, I'd still be confused
look how beautiful I write on phone
the "to be able to" is what's confusing
if it's just
"He said, that he will have to do it"
schlafen waschen tragen 🤔
then it's
Er hat gesagt, dass er es wird können müssen.
You could meme around it with a double modal dass er es können muss, but that still doesn't cover the future part of he said, that he will have to be able to do it. You could stick another werden in there for good measure.
i love my crosses gold, they look memey
^Another werden for good measure.
Nou, what Mika said.
Just forgot to say: does umlauts count in this exercise?
Very good @ocean robin , I want you to write the 2nd person of fahren and tragen and waschen though
the verb is supposed to be at the end, right?
2nd person singular
so why there?
yes
saw dat mistake okay
That's the rule we were discussing earlier. Double infinitives are an exception to that.
hmmmm
There's a bit about it in Modern german grammar. Give me a sec.
can you make a formula out of this double infinitive?
so I can imagine it better in my head
of course
@ocean robin And waschen?
Du wäschst?
Yus
yipee
krypti, no answering the fake questions!
Section 8.6 if you want to check it out yourself.
@pine ginkgo Eeek sorry
Modern German Grammar. It's in resources.
ew at the double infinitive clause thing
YEAH I KNEW IT WAS IN. AGH TYPOS.
it's simple enough to understand but defo going to forget that
the "double infinitives" will stay that way....
so it's lik double infinitives ALWAYS go at the end no matter what
Let's make it A2, just to be sure. 😛
Yeah, just stick the modal before the infinitives and you're good.
Hi
at the end?
What are we doing?
machen müssen
modal verb seems to always be after the infinitive
Awwww I am not A2 in Englishing. My weak point is just prepositions.
Fine. A1 then.
@ocean robin Ready for more exercises
C1 in written English, A2 in spoken English
you're right Pferd
Anyway I have to flop ofd for a bit, so you lads just keep torturing Flops.
toodles
Wooooo Solet, I was planning to read some stuff in English today by the way.
Actually, I'm gonna flop too.
Stay tuned.
I'll come back later.
See you, Arrem and Mika.
😿
I should be back in 30m. Maybe an hour.
This is somewhat suspicious.
must buy Futter
They're going to gather and plot against you @ocean robin
We're all going to a German party. And you're not invited. 😮
Ich muss Futter kaufen.
😦
flutter
cries in corner
just do it flaps
^
Thinking about it
You can make one using ~7 words.
What.
Wooooo, Lilly!
I think he's kidding us.
Not at all.
Yeah that turned into #flops_practice.
Hello, @ocean robin! Best to you!

Und los geht's...
Without any particles, adjectives and what not, you can pack all cases into 7 words.

Wow.
Are y'all taught this when young?
wow what, I need I dunno, 10 words or so to do that
^
less thinking about the length
@ocean robin You can do it!
more doing it
And yet, I have no idea of how the sentence will be
The longer the better, in fact. 😛
Ah.
"Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive are cool"
All cases in 7 words in English
Bite me
Pfft.
nice spelling

@ocean robin Think of a verb that usually goes with both an indirect object and a direct object

Then think of how to incorporate the genitive afterwards
I have no idea of a verb which works like that...
Yes you do

Oooh, etw. jemandem. erzählen
lel typo
Mmmh, now I should put a genitive everywhere and then boom.
8 minutes left
You got this.
"Das Mädchen der Mutter hat mir erzählt, dass sie eine Katze hat." 🤷
dat inspiration
I'm a simple man: Er gibt mir den Hund seiner Mutter
god
Very good, little fox
yay 🎉
👀
Feels like cheating to use the s genitive tbh
You can take some time to do this. Flopps Exercizor.

So one by one? Not that I do all of them and then I post it?
Maybe one at a time would be better, since if you have to stop inbetween you can do others later
Less frustrating for us then 😄
Yeah, okay
Then for "to get up" I wanted to use "aufwachen"even if it means "to wake up"; does it work?
I don't think so
Ah.
it's alright
@pine ginkgo Isn't there a separate verb for that?
I'd say 'aufwachen' means to wake up
It doesn't imply that you get up
If you want to be annoying

If you're like me and lay in bed forever after waking up it's an important distinction 😛
well, sure if you want a literal translation
but we don't really distinguish between both
that often
Isn't that the opposite of discipline? 🤔
No, they get up at the time they're supposed to
We just lie in bed for another half an hour

Oh, you meant solet
@ocean robin So what's your translation of 1
If you keep in mind the distinction, then sure
"Ich wache um 6 Uhr auf." hoping sentence is righto
Good, padawan
yaaaay
@pine ginkgo Would you not say "Ich stehe um 7 Uhr auf"?
i would say both
as i said, we don't really distinguish between both, except if you are trying to make a point
So i was thinking about anfangen 🤔
beginnen is okay
Ah, really?
Yes 😏
"Ich beginne meine Arbeit um 8 Uhr." and what is this word, my dear Krypti
The one you yourself suggested
Veri gudo
You can use anfangen with a preposition as well
How would it be like then

wot
I thought maybe it would be the same preposition as in Norwegian but looking at dict.cc I think I'm wrong 🤔
"Ich fange mit meiner Arbeit an"
And the time?
@viscid cape Well, prepositions are weird in any language. I actually think "mit" would work too, but usually we'd use "auf"
@cold vessel Yeah I'm just teasing :3
yayies righto
Backerooni.
Wooo Arrem.
Good news, over the last 2 years my eyesight hasn't gone to shit more than it already has. Bad news, my glasses are getting a bit memey and repairing them would be hard, so I'm getting new ones, wew.
Floppo, what does
"Das Mädchen der Mutter hat mir erzählt, dass sie eine Katze hat."
mean? 🤔
Wooo Arrem also has glasses. Don't worry my sight is also shiet. -8 at both eyes. Hopefully it got better and went to -6 now.
Well, Arrem, wanted to say actually that "The mother's girl tells me that she has a cat" and now I realize that I should have used Tochter, because it sounds a little bit off.
Yes. I thought that I -10 I would go blind.
And when I was at -8 I was 7/8. Good childhood.
Do you have like 3 cm thick glasses, flappy?
Don't think so
I have -8 as well
It looks like 1 cm though
feelsbad.jpg
I'm at 0, get hecked
Or less, I don't know
1cm
memes
Flops. We need a pic of your glasses. Preferrably top-down so we can see the thickness. 😛
Sure thing waito.
Because 1cm is like. A fucking pickle jar.
I don't think it's 1 cm though eh. It's too much.
0,5 maybe?
Fancy french glasses

Yeh, that's nowhere near 1cm. I'd give it an 0.3.
Those don't look that much thicker than mine 🤔
lel -8 girl with 0.3 cm glasses
And I think my sight got even worse. I should go to the optamologist soon.
Anyway translation.
are these compressed by any chance
Dunno
Yeah, they do fancy magic now.
30 years ago, you would have had 1cm thick ones. 😛
Flops.
Die Besprechung erfolgt am Montag. -> The meeting takes place on Monday.
He has... mojo.
THE HELL IS THAT
ITS CALLED GERMAN
THE HELL IS THAT
WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
Anyway, I apologize for giving Flops the chance to flop up the conversation. Now back to work.
Hummm I think erfolgen sounds weird in this context... maybe natives can help.
Also Krypti, which page is that exercise from?
I TALK ABOUT THE GLASSES I JUST SAW
Arrem 28
Eh I'm not sure if it's really wrong, but stattfinden would be a better verb to use for events and such.
I think you wouldn't really say erfolgen when it's about something you planned

Yeah
Stattfinden? Is that a seperable prefix?
You tell us
^
How do you know if a prefix is sepparable in this case?

Wooo prefix is a little thingy that you add to the word to form another word.
Yes
Flops' definition ™
Cool now go ahead and look the word up.
So, if you know that statt is a prefix, you can tell whether it's separable just by listening to the word
Or 🐶🔫
Christ, I just came to white theme and I think that my eyes died.
I've been using light themes my whole life and my eyes are better than yours. Checkm8 Floppeists.

Now. https://de.wiktionary.org/ -> stattfinden
"Ich finde statt" lmao that is so weird
Yes
If you know how the word sounds
You can tell whether it's separable by noticing if the prefix has stress
If it has stress, it's separable
You say STATTfinden
Bright theme is beautiful but painful. I think I am going back to dark.
Ahhhhh.
Yeah, we are.
do people use stattfinden often?
Kinda, I guess.
So let me rephrase that:
oooh cool!
?
DW botto, she just can't read. 😛
yeah, don't worry, nully
👀
Eh, I didn't know the past for finden, that's all. Just discovered it a few secs ago.
you said "fang" though
Wow, I can't write.
Okay Floppo, give us the sentence now.
"Die Besprechung findet am Montag statt." Then. I almost put a question mark but then I'll hear "is this an awnser or a question"
Why'd you do findet statt?
he just wants you to explain it
Ah, better explanation lel
how to explain stattfinden, huh
You mean why did I put the statt at the end?
It's no fun when you spoil it Botto. 😦
Well, because it's a seperable prefix and stattfinden is a seperable verb. So in this case we just put the prefix in the end of the clause and then poof verb is conjugated.
Oki. Can you give me an example sentence where we don't separate the separable prefix?
Verstehen, for example, I think
That's not what he meant
also not separable
Yeah, because that's an inseparable prefix.
When would you write stattfindet instead of findet statt, for example.
can i join in on this
sure
Everyone's always welcome in the torture chamber.
easier question: what kind of clauses does german have
Kind of clauses?
thinks immediately about subordinating
thats one
Any particular thing you'd like to work on, cop?
yup, now how does a separable verb look in a main clause
It looks alright, nothing special.
Like for stattfinden, main clause:
"findet [...] statt."
Fir subordinating clauses (because I know this question is next):
"[...] stattfindet."
Y'all having a good time?
So Flops, can you give me an example where you would separate an inseparable prefix. Stehen ver instead of verstehen?
WHAT.
You don't have to steal the answers. We can always write our own examples. 😄
DOES THAT EVEN EXIST?
Well, can you do it? 😛
nuuuh you can't
it's right there in the name
lel
Correcto. Inseparable prefixes are never separated.
I wouldn't put it past German to name something "inseparable" and then have it separate in some obscure edge case 👀
yeah same
lel
Hallo, Moin und Servus, Casca!
Hehe. Maybe one day, hen. 😛
He's memeing
ayyyyy Arizona.
Arizonaaaa.
Alrighto. We can continue. Floppo when does the train arrive?
Cop. Hm. Arizona give us a simple sentence with a separable verb in it.
Uhhh
Arizona give us a simple sentence
lol
give me a simple sentence
Oh I missed one. You can do when does the train depart. 👌
AHHHHH.
wann fährt der zug ab?
Wann fährt der Zug ab?
Correcto. Except we capitalize our nouns.
lel same
In other news, guess what's an actual word https://i.imgur.com/wJAZaXh.png
yeah i know i'm just not good at that
LOL
get that away from me
als wir arriviert waren
Beautiful. 😍
Floppo, your sentence was arrive, not depart. Can we have that one, please? 😄
Ah.
other way around i think lol
But I did say abfahren. :<
I put a blue jacket on there's a sentence
he means he wants you to say arrive
Ahhhh.
you did depart right flappy
Ankommen then I think.
👌 Use it in a sentence please. 😄
Wann kommt der Zug an?
Terrible.

anziehen is put on right?
Nah, it's fine. Let's see how you handle the next one. Michael is tidying up and his children are watching television.
Aye.
👀
There are inseperable prefixes that are also seperable, like übersetzen 🙃
(I joke, it's not the same)
Man, another Norwegian cognate. It's basically every prefixed verb 👀
Close.
"Michael räume auf und seine Kinder sehen fern."
Almost. Check the second clause again.
sehen
And Flops can check her first clause. 😛

lol together we made one good sentence
Sehen, yeah.
Ah räume lel
Now correct it.
"Michael räumt auf und seine Kinder sehen fern."
Michael räumt auf, und seine Kinder sehen fern
Which form would räume be, Flops?
Ich.
but michael is a he
Oh yes, that too. But also the imperative.
@west harness no commas before und
@sudden panther Rekt lol
that's_the_mistake™
Lwt?
ever?
Look who's talking. 😂
And Arizona I do that a lot too. eheh
Not exactly never, but they're not really needed in most cases.
TIL.
when do you use commas?
For seperating clauses.
if two main clauses are considered equal
Always comma when you are starting another one.
these only get added for clarity though
hmm okay
You can find some (more) examples of when it would be acceptable here http://www.sprachschach.de/komma-vor-und/ but it's a bit past level A I'd say, so it's safe to ignore it for now.
ich esse kuchen kuchen, weil ich er mag
a bit past A level
kuchen once though
Lel that was what I was going to say.
Have you read up on cases yet?
What's the sentence meant to be?
Whoa whoa whoa. First what is the gender of Kuchen? Step by step.
der kuchen
Yes.
ich esse kuchen, cause i like it
And this "it" is which case? 😛
akkusativ
👌
der becomes den right?
@west harness You said "er" though, not "der"
i know
Der becomes den, but you can't use a definite article here.
Unless you want to say "Ich esse Kuchen, den ich mag" but that wouldn't have rhe same meaning.
Yeah, ihn!
make mistakes
yaaaaay
NOW SENTNECE
🎉
🎉
There are lots of ways to phrase it though. 😅
weil ich sie mag, where you'd be talking about Kuchen in plural or even weil ich es mag where you'd be talking about the action of eating itself.
Don't eat all of my cake
When flappy becomes B we should make a channel dedicated to her explaining grammar for As
^

I bought it with my own money
lol what
rude
Chucks have money?
chuck lmao
Yeah Chucks get Bafög even though they're not currently studying
And bh the way ayyyyy Chuck what's up?
😮 Phone Merkel!
Bafög sounds like a demon's name
no way

Selbstanzeige ist raus
that sounds illegal
It's just an oversight
Wenn ich dich bitte, darf ich Kuchen haben?
LOL WHAT
Chuck chuckles and all his problems are solved
That's the advantage of being a Chuck
Chuck is chucking and that way he doesn't havd problems at all.
you can just chuck and everybody else chucks with you
I am thinking now that my German teacher will give me back my essay I did 👀
How do you think you did?
If I have less than 50% kill me.
got it
alles
Flops, nachdem sie die Noten gesehen hat, die sie bekommen hat, ist wieder weggefloppt
that German is terrible up there, hope it wasn't from a book 😛
referring to my own ofc
Still remember the time when the teacher asked "what is Perfekt" and I litteraly told 5 minutes about it

But did you say the right things?
How much did you have to litter to tell it litteraly? 🤔
I think, she was like "oh god perfect"
rofl arrem
Anyway. Floppo. Last sentence. Are you coming along to the cinema?
coming alone
It's not a typo
Sounds like a [...]kommen again
Bist du kommend entlang zu dem Kino.
exactly
It's not a typo. You can't read again.
yes
Bimst du*
Also no, please don't use entlang.
I'd personally say "coming with" instead of "coming along" myself
lol whag arrem
😏
whack arrem
that's ok

:^)
That's unironically how I'd say it
- Chose mitkommen in this case.
- Is mitkommen a seperable verb? -> yes -> mit at the end.
- Now conjugate that boi
- And do your question yu foxy.

😏
But I am just not sure about the "to the cinema" here. I really really want to say "ins Kino" but this is the place right? Or oh wait.
When we go somewhere, it's Akk right?
2nd place if there is a W- question, or 1st place if it's a yes/no question
What kind of question are we dealing with?
A ye/nope one. So 1st place.
Like: "Kommst du ins Kino mit?" -> Are you coming along to the cinema?
Hold your horses, try to form the sentence without information about the location first
Ayyy.
You're very close, just needs a bit of adjustment
Oh. Where?
I know you prolly know the answer to this but Where?
To the cinema?
It's not "ins Kino"
it is, I just want you to understand how we think when forming a question like this

A german thinks like this when forming a question involving additional information like a location "Kommst du mit... (oh heck, he doesn't know where though. Better specify...) zum/ins Kino?"
I thought about zum Kino a few mins ago and then said in my head "he said ins Kino was righto."
I thought the prefix always got pushed to the end of the clause 🤔
^
a prefix is still bound to the original object it references
so we cant just put it at the end since it's part of the predicate which is in fact connected to our subject
🤔
So the question is "Kommst du mit ins Kino?"
yup
Can you formulate a general rule that tells me where to put the prefix since you just destroyed the one I had? 😛
Things like these are exceptions, really.
-pinches Flappy's cheeks-
Ban Floppo.
I'd say Kommst du auch ins Kino mit? as well (the mit before ins sounds better though). That might be dialect.
It doesn't matter, really. Works either way. Mit before ins is the more grammatically correct way to phrase it.
why me blame
wat
weeeee
EINE SYNONYME DE QUALITÉ OUI OUI

Flappy, your task is to find out the (ok, bad) joke in that sentence

Floppso. Identify the object(s) of the sentence and say if they're direct or indirect.
2 - Er kauft dem Mädchen ein Eis.
3 - Herr Schulz zeigt dem Gast seinen Garten.
4 - Der Kellner bringt dir das Essen.```
If you give her German sentences she can just look at the case though

Er kauft den Jungen ein Eis takes a dark turn if you add a comma between Jungen and ein.
that's_my_strategy.jpeg
but will she get the answer right?
Ayyyy Pferd. Today is a great day.
Casca, the enumeration would need an 'und' there :(
Remember that on September 27th, Floppsel had her first righto translation.
And why is that, dear Flapper-chan?
Flapper-chan >3<
True, but that spoils the fun. ^^
It's obviously das flapper-chan
I didn't see it
i made a screen
Er kauft den Jungen ein Eis und eine große blutdichte Plastikwanne da geht es

Hast recht.

She's free to look at the case as long as she gets it right. 😛

We can do English ones afterwards.
Er achtet darauf, dass die Wanne aus Plastik besteht, bevor er Fluorwasserstoffsäure dazu gießt.
1 - der Frau (indirect -> Dat) ein Buch (direct -> Akk)
2- dem Mädchen (Dat) ein Eis (Akk)
3- dem Gast (Dat) seinen Garten (der Garten -> Akk)
4. dir (Dat); das Essen (Akk).

So where exactly did you say if they're direct or indirect?

But Akk is direct and Dat indirect
not always
Should have used some prepositions to confuse her smh
Why pay extra money for renovations when you could easily use this method to own a hole-in-the-ceiling-wall?
"ich helfe dir"
🧀 & 🍚 !
Yeah rice now?
'Cheese&Rice!'
korea no flappsel distraction
cheese and rice = minced oath of "Jesus Christ"
Don't worry, I didn't either
in those you're right up there
well, identify each object in arrem's sentences
and say whether they're direct or indirect
Well, let me add if they're direct or not for the others

Deutscher Humor ist keine Angelegenheit über die man Scherze macht.

1 - Ich schenke der Frau ein Buch.
2 - Er kauft dem Mädchen ein Eis.
3 - Herr Schulz zeigt dem Gast seinen Garten.

1 - der Frau (indirect -> Dat) ein Buch (direct -> Akk)
2- dem Mädchen (Dat, indirect) ein Eis (Akk, direct: he doesn't buy the girl, it'd be weird)
3- dem Gast (Dat, indirect) seinen Garten (der Garten -> Akk, direct)
4. dir (Dat, direct); das Essen (Akk, indirect).

Life, the universe, and everything.
Oh, interesting, let me find that in what I wrote right there.
Are you ready for more exercizoz.
Yes.
Are you done with your current ones?
yus

The next topic in the book is imperatives

Don't you want to do a revision exercise?
You memed up Flops.
Oh nevermind that, I'm done.
Didn't we say in 1 week?
The only exception to the dative for indirect objects, accusative for direct objects is when you have a verb that requires dative. Like helfen, as Ari said. With that in mind, see where you memed up.
ah.
I didn't read ol' Flöps' answer, did she meme up?
I might be an idiot, but I don't see it

Maybe practice dative verbs?
chuckiot
