looks good to me?
it's almost like you're becoming more German!!!
That's very nice, I don't think I'd be able to do it 😄
I'd say you're pretty close to B1 😄
^
a harder sentence eh
You have a gift for languages. Furthermore, you're persistant, and it shows. Your hard work is paying off.
LOL
Your enthusiasm is paying off well, you seem to be understanding more and more
I know that Solet though.
eheh
Well really, it doesn't. And you shouldn't overestimate yourself because it's the perfect way to stop working and improving. Just be honest with yourself and progress will come with time. 😉
*you're, Solet. ^^
your'e*
LOL
Luna knew what he was doing
'yer
my b, your b, his b
Botto, you meme. 😛
Well, you know Pferd, I am the kind of person who when they have a goal, the do all what they can to accomplish it. I am having a lot of fun as well, so it's great.
We're happy if you're happy, Flappy.
So, thank you all for spending time and fun with me. ❤
Thanks for being here. ❤
You're welcome. ❤
I'll ship you to Bielefeld some day, Kryptik.
But Casca already know some French. I said I think he is at least B1.
That is... good... right? 🤔
i just like to make flaps suffer
You're a necessary evil, Solet. ❤
It's okay Solet, I like you.
Well, I play osu!. But other than that, no.
i gotta start an essay
but idk how
so hard
to starte
to
write
it's due in 2 days
About what?
👌
do it and post pics
Here it is. I am sure that I have forgotten some.
hi genitive
https://clyp.it/aabz0sjp secrelty hides and wait because she doesn't know what to think about that
What, was it cute again lol
Really, accent was correct? 🤔
No words that I misspelled?
Wow. What.
https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/vwyuad4gw8tnpn5q ignoring retarded voice and mic 😛
owo
Should I say it faster Flepperfecker?
I wonder how quickly I could pronounce it. 🤔
Well done, Flappy!
Ahhh, but you did the first one Callum!
I like it
Waaa.
Scottish.
Yes.
wat
Is it obviously Scottish? I'm somewhat okay with the accent, unless it's like middle england~y
What does that mean 🤔
🤔
It means that your French accent is noticeable.
Yeah, I thought that it could be noticeable
which is not unusual for french speakers
Hearing Flops speak makes me realize that they totally nailed Fleur's translations in Harry Potter. 👌
Callum, it's definitely a British accent, but I couldn't place it anywhere in particular.
Time to do a Daniel then? 🤔
though i don't think
Oh fok.
You did well, Flöpsel
i have met any french native speakers speaking without french accent in german 🤔
though my sample size is about 5
It's something you can be proud of, definitely. German is incredibly hard to pronounce as a French native.
Är kann nischt teilnehmen. Är ist zu jung.
ehehe
It doesn't flow as much as French does, which is a hard adjustment to make.
You'll get there eventually, I'm sure of it!
'Arry
hearing french people saying words, where the h is actually pronounced is super fun
:D
Ayy wat, I didn't think it was that good
I mean there are some improvements to be made
but for your first time this was really good
You're better than you give yourself credit for.
Yes Solet, where there was a "h" I was like saying like, as hard as I could say it
that's why it's so fun :D
In French I could just ignore it lol
i just make fun of people, don't mind me
Don't worry, we love French accents.
We really do
It's the same as with Dutch accents where they're just so distinct, but just easy enough to understand.
Compare your "hallo" to your "(h)abe" and just do the h from hallo all the time. 😛
'allo 👌
'allo 'allo
'Ello 'ello, what's this, then?
mhh, what would a german sentence be, that would trigger the french ticks
y'see the knicker fell down the apples and pears, and then old jimmy here gave him what for
like flowing consonants to the next vocal
and having different kind of h pronounciation
🤔
'allo who is it?
"Das Eichhörnchen aß ein Brötchen, während das Quietscheentschen Rührei aß."
Ooh, nice.
Quietscheentschen want to stick antoerh tsch in there anywhere D:
"Hinter einem Fichtendickicht dichten dicke Nichten tüchtig" 👌
Oh this one is also pretty good: "Der dicke Dachdecker deckt dir dein Dach, drum dank dem dicken Dachdecker, dass der dicke Dachdecker dir dein Dach deckte."
Der dischte Daschdescher descht dir ein Dasch 👌
https://www.speakpipe.com/voice-recorder/msg/7y0v9m84mw6cvz75 Guess my accent 😄
Norwegian, maybe?
Yes 😮
Can you tell the difference between a Swedish and a Norwegian accent?
Possibly?
What are the telltale signs of a northern accent?
I would expect the Danish accent to be quite different from the Swedish/Norwegian one. It isn't?
it is
norwegian is the most different imo
but you all kinda have the long vocals :D
I think you're from Bergen @cold vessel
Did my r give it away? 😛
yeee
i had to think hard, but i'd agree on the kinda long vocals and ofc the R sound, and what differs from Swedish accents is the intonation of vowels, where in SV you have the Y sounds and those shorter "Schwa"
so to me the front vowels are where I would make the distinction
also i have the feeling the voice rises while speaking a lot
Actually there are two different pitches in Norwegian, it depends on your dialect
i have a norwegian friend
and he pronounces every vowel very long
when he tries to speak german
....mhh not every vowel actually
mostly the a-vowel
@ocean robin Too late your recording is already trending on twitter
#LeVoiceofFläppers
I don't think it would help you to work on your accent right now. The pronunciation was understandable, which is absolutely enough for someone at your level. If you want me to, I can record the text myself when I'm back home later this evening so you have something to compare yourself to.
Which probably would make it easier for you too, rather than going over single words and how you could improve.
I'd also be willing to record it.
Wooo.
What you should be doing is translating memes and stuff. 👌
Will do that right now, Arrem. Sentence.
I'm not feeling very creative today. :U
That's a good one
:c
Ahaha. Close enough.
Arrem is not feeling very creative today.
- :U
, because he is a meme.
LOL
Gotta translate the smiley as well
reflexive
reflexive
evixelfer
:thinking_cat:
I thought that was french for a second. 👌
It kind of looks like a french word, yeah.
Flopps, fühlen can be both reflexive and non-reflexive
Mmmh.
sich fühlen = to feel (like), mood or the like, "to feel good" for example.
(etwas) fühlen = physically feeling or sensing something
So I should use my reflexive skills here?
Er fühlte sein Herz pochen.
Er fühlte sich schlecht, weil er dumm ist.
You should
Okay, so Arrem is male. I am feeling that I should say "sich".
What would you say if I was female? 🤔
Uuuuuh.
ihrsch
LOL
That's the right word to use, but it doesn't change with different genders.
Er fühlt sich, sie fühlt sich, es fühlt sich.
Ah.
So let me rephrase that.
"Arrem fühlt sich nicht mehr kreativ heute, weil er ein Meme ist."
What.
Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
Yeah you had it right the first time
uwu
Also to make it look even better (even though it's not an actual grammatical mistake) try to avoid putting words that indicate a specific timeframe at the end of a sentence. "Fühlt sich heute nicht sehr kreativ" just feels better to me than "fühlt sich nicht sehr kreativ heute", even though - again - it's not a mistake.
^^When specifying time, you either do that after the verb or right at the start.
So Flops, final version without any mistakes, please? 😛
Heute hast du über Zeitangaben gelernt.
well done
woooo
Good Flopper.
Yay.
Now here's one that you'll find useful if you ever get in trouble while in Germany:
"I did not steal that man's strawberry and he is most certainly not my husband."
"I did not steal that woman's husband and this is most certainly not my strawberry."
Yes!
"I didn't strawberry that husband's steel and this is most certainly not my woman."
LOL WHAT IS THIS
Sentences. For you. To translate. Go.

"I did not arrem that Arrem's Arrem and this is most arremly not my Arrem."
I strawberried my woman and that steel is my husband
urban strawberry
To people out there not hip to the fact, a strawberry is a girl sellin' pussy for crack to the Dopeman.
Don't fuck around, she'll give ya gonorrhea!
what
Aha.
What.
O_O

Well. I guess I am due that woman some crack now
From now on I shall only be refered to as "the Dopeman"
😂
So Flops, ignore the Dopeman and the others, and translate my sentence.
👌
"Ich habe nicht die Erdbeere dieses Mannes gestohlen, und er ist natürlich nicht meinen Ehemann."
WTF IS THIS
woops wait.
Du hast nicht die Erdbeere dieses Mannes gestohlen, sondern?
^

We discussed that same issue yesterday.
Seine Frau xD
mmmmh
Think, Flopps. You can do it.
Is it again the placement of nicht?
Did you not steal the strawberry or did you not steal the strawberry
Aye. Your current placement implies that you didn't steal the strawberry, but you stole something else.
LOL BUT IT'S THE SENTENCE SOLET
No, you didn't steal the man either. Fix your nicht. 😛
There are only two spots where the nicht in that sentence could go and you sadly chose the wrong one
Aye Arrem 😍
well technically three
But the third option is super poetic and sounds ridiculously outdated
Nicht ich habe nicht die Erdbeere nicht dieses Mannes gestohlen nicht.
@thick charm What is it?
"Nicht ich habe die Erdbeere dieses Mannes gestohlen"
When in doubt, just do what Base did. 👌
'twasn't me who stole those strawberries
We should incorporate Nichte into the next sentence.
actually thinking about it
So in that case "Nicht ich" is like one item "not I"?
"Ich habe die Erdbeeren nicht dieses Mannes gestohlen" would theoretically work as well, but it's just as ridiculous.
Yeah and it's just as theatrical as in English.
Like you wouldn't hear that outisde of a play
Meaning you stole someone else's strawberry?
Yeah
Can I post my suggestion then
Sure.
"Ich habe die Erdbeere des Mannes nicht gestohlen und er ist ganz bestimmt nicht mein Ehemann"
I never know if the definite article is demonstrative enough or if I need to use a form of dies-
Oh yeah, I didn't steal.
Correct, Henbruas.
sein (ist) takes the nominative.
Fok.
@ocean robin Think of sein like an equals sign
I like how you came back as soon as the answer was posted.
🥐
Was hast du gegessen? (Auf Deutsch)
*Clichés. ^^
🥖 🍫
Kein Baguette mit Nutella? 😛
^Banned from France.
Brot is how she translates Baguette obviously
No, it wasn't Baguette.
😱
It was bread.
Lame.
Cool.
LOL
Ich esse kein Nutella.
Nun sag uns auf Deutsch: worüber willst du, dass der nächste Satz ist?

So Flops. "This scoundrel asked my squirrel to dance, even though he knew that it hates dancing."
Hmm, followup question. My impression was that for negating nouns you use "kein" instead of "nicht", but in "Ich habe nicht die Erdbeere dieses Mannes gestohlen", "nicht" negates the noun. Does "Ich habe keine Erdbeere dieses Mannes gestohlen" make sense? Does it mean the same thing?
OH My GOD ARREM WHAT.
Guter Satz, Arrem.
I think using nicht die would refer to a specific strawberry, henbruas.
You do, but only if you would use ein in the affirmative version of the sentence. So basically what Base said.
it wouldn't be the same, henbruas
"nicht die Erdbeere" would mean not this certain strawbeery
but if you use "keine Erdbeere" it would mean you didn't steal any of the strawberries
Ohh, that makes sense. Thanks!
it would work if it was "nicht eine Erdbeere"
Would "nicht eine Erdbeere" be wrong? Ie. should you always use "kein-" if it's indefinite?
but you can write or say it as "nicht eine Erdbeere" if you want to make special emphasis on "eine"
I see
"Dieser Halunke hat mein Eichhörnchen zu tanzen gefragt, obwohl er weißte, das es tanzen hasse."
Wait no.
Better.
I also wasn't on a French keyboard, Flappy. 😛
Oh damn, maybe I didn't check the right typo of wissen in past tense.
"the right typo"
And while we're at it, hasse isn't quite correct either. 😛
After you come back and figure out the correct form, give us the whole sentence agian. 😄
Aktiv: Die Polizei kontrolliert die Geschwindigkeit.
Passiv: Die Geschwindigkeit wird von der Polizei kontrolliert
^--- is this right?
I am back woooo.
Hi Flappy.
Hi Base.
yes Mitch 👌 ☑
👌
Where is Arrememe.
Good work Mitch.
he is sobbing in the corner because somebody said something about the light theme
Nuuuuuuh.
It's for the best.
Nemo could help you. He's a good teacher.
Wooo Nemo plox come her.
oui?
Ah tu veux parler français?
je suis pain
what the heck
I can help correct your text, Flappy.
i don't speak french
it was a joke in another discord, we set out to learn how to say "I am bread" in every popular language
Jokes about "teaching french" incoming
Protip: When you need Arrememe you should probably ping Arrememe. 😛
or just ping role:arrem
But then we can't make jokes about your absence.
Well, Casca, you can help me too if you want.
Where's your sentence at right now, Flappy?
"Dieser Halunke hat mein Eichhörnchen zu tanzen gefragt, obwohl er wusste, das es tanzen hasse."
"hasse isn't really correct either" - Arrim, 2017 never forgetti
I was gonna do the tiny things first, Cassie. 😛
Am I gonna repeat the same thing for the third time? 😛
""hasse isn't really correct either" - Arrim, 2017 never forgetti" - Arrem, 2017, rip
Yes. Can you decline hassen for me?
ich _
du _
er/sie/es _
In which tense?
Present simple.
I thought that was French for a second.
Sure thing.
Ich hasse; du hasst; er/sie/es hasst. AH.
^^
Riiiighto. 👌
Hm. Let's fix up the last part of the sentence, I suppose.
Oh yeah.
Actually before we do that give us the whole sentence again. 😄
I was about to say that Casca said something about tanzen.
The whole sentence in English?
Why would I want the sentence in English? 🤔
In German. With the hassen part incorporated.
Sure.
"Dieser Halunke hat mein Eichhörnchen zu tanzen gefragt, obwohl er wusste, das es tanzen hasst."
Don't worry, there's no real meaning.
^
sure about that?
wooo, it's my gut instinct which is talking and saying that
When you're using that with verbs, such in our case, it's a dass.
When you're using it to refer to a noun, it's a der/die/das depending on the gender of the noun.
Ich wusste, dass du es schaffst.
Das Mädchen, das so schön ist.
Der Mann, der ein Memer ist.
Die Frau, die ich getroffen habe.
No, not 'so dass', just a 'dass'
plsdontmurderme

woof woof
*an "s". ^^
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
But I was about to say "an" Casca. I chnaged my mind since then.
Bad Flops.
Why would you change your mind when it was correct? ^^
Flops. We have one more thing left. Give us a sentence and let's finish that lovely meme.
What are we currently up to, Flappy? ^^
We were at das and dass before.
So what's the full sentence with the latest correction(s)?
"Dieser Halunke hat mein Eichhörnchen zu tanzen gefragt, obwohl er wusste, dass es tanzen hasst."
he hates dancing =/= he hates to dance
Ungleich
yeah but why do you need two =
!=
because whai not solet
the make up makes no sense to me
It's one really long =, Luna.
Because nobody except @quasi merlin knows how to do ≠
In fact, you usually just do as Mika did, but I have no idea how to do it so it's just =/=.
Ew
!= is the best
^Haskell style, the /= I mean.
but why =/=
Just do !=
Because it doesn't exist, hehehe.
=/= just makes no sense to me
It means that the equal sign is crossed, Solet.
Or !==
Just say "is not equal to"
#justphpthings
It's the only logical choice.
Yeah.
Solet, just think that it's life.
And sometimes we can't decide on how things can be in life.

Oh they changed the voice channel layout. Looks silly.
Oh really?
"Dieser Halunke hat mein Eichhörnchen zu tanzen gefragt, obwohl er wusste, dass es zu tanzen hasst." Here with all the corrections. I hope it's right now.
AH IT'S HORRIBLE
Arrem, what's that?
And why is your channel view dark when you have light theme? 😛
LOL
That's how it looks on latest canary. 🤔
And that's how the channel list looks, regardless of your theme. 😛
Sounds accurate :D
What really.
I was just searching for the verb and then I laughed seeing that
I'd translate 'können' with 'pouvoir' though
Yeah, that's it
"a can"

Wait that I search it again Casca. ^^
"Dieser Halunke hat mein Eichhörnchen zu tanzen gefragt, obwohl er wusste, dass es zu tanzen hasst." Nobody said that it was correct or wrong either.
zu tanzen gefragt doesn't sound right to me.
I'd personally change the final zu tanzen, also.
Chuck didn't say so.
Like I said, I'd personally change it.
Oki dokie.
Ah.
Mika, does the first clause look correct to you?
I'd change the final zu tanzen to Tanzen or put it after hasst
That was my initial idea, my internet died tho so I couldn't answer
I'd go with the noun
I am going to eat.
bon appetit
That leaves this passage: Dieser Halunke hat mein Eichhörnchen zu tanzen gefragt, [...]
Enjoy your meal!
Does zu tanzen gefragt sound correct to any of you?
Okay, good.
um einen Tanz gefragt maybe
Woo, I am back.
Welcome back. 😃
Dieser Halunke hat mein Eichhörnchen zum Tanzen eingeladen, obwohl er wusste, dass es Tanzen hasst.
I'd go with that, myself.
Mmmh. And what is "eingelanden" itself?
man
I need to star Sun someday
but I'm still palyign Omega Ruby
still got legendaries left
and gotta beat the pokémon league again
addicting game
Oh, okay Chuck.
eingelanden
^^
Einladen is packing up, innit
It can be, yes.
oh damn
As in I'm loading in the car
It's the act of landing your plane so hard it can only land that one time
Creative solution henbruas :D
Einen Termin absprechen = To make an appointment. Einen Termin absagen = To cancel an appointment.
FML
invented to verb?
Kryptik, there's also abschwätzen (I think it is dialect though) which means something like talk someone into giving you something
(jemandem etwas abschwätzen)
And surprise, surprise: schwatzen can be used for to talk as well :)
"to talk someone into giving you something" sounds like a useful verb
there should be an english equivalent
🤔
🤔
talk sb into giving one sth
Humm true, I don't know why the German seems far more compact
but in the end, English will never have the beauty of German compositions
Wir haben den anderen Sprachen die kompakten Wörter abgeschwätzt!
Abschwatzungsbefähigungsermächtigung
...sdebattenabstimmungsverhaltensauswertung

You could of course append ...kaffeemaschinenreparaturdienstaushilfenkalender to shift the meaning to the Kalender of the Aushilfe of the Reparaturdienst of the Kaffeemaschine of said Büro.
what.
Abschwatzungsbefähigungsermächtigungsdebattenabstimmungsverhaltensauswertungsstatistikerausbildungsgremiumsvorsitzendenausschusssekretärinnenbürokaffeemaschinenreparaturdienstaushilfenkalender
You can do this in English as well. It's just not accepted as grammatically correct
Oh my god my eyes.
Still the same
I just see "Kalender".
While we're at it, gimme a sentence Korea.
Not a one withoutspacesplease.
First of all Fläppsi, what would be the gender of that long word? ;)
^
Easy, just think about the gender of Kalender
Which is...?
Man, imagine if there was no rule about the gender of compound words
which is der
Yep!
✅
Woooo. 🎉
Now a sentence... English->German, German->English, German->Correct German?
Woow. German -> correct German. Challenge.
I love German->Correct German because it doesn't take vocabulary skills 😄
Das laange Word ist viel zu lange um darauß auf den Sinn der Wort zu schließen.
well
Is that the only mistake?
I don't think so.
"Das lange Wort ist viel zu lange" wat
does he mean "is really long"?
Or "is very long"?
🤔
is much too long.
Ah
Mmmmh.
Wait. The sentence you said doesn't make sense. Or my English gets broken slowly.
"is much too long"
That's correct
That makes sense. ^
What.
yes
The word is much too long = 'Le mot est trop long[some e's here? idk]' (don't kill me for my french xD)
"[some e's here? idk]" about sums up French tbh
Yeah, but wasn't it the other way around "too much"?
Oh but yeah.
Context.
.w.
Then. "darauß" just what. What.
^
wooo sure.
Currently:
Das lange Wort ist viel zu lange um darauß auf den Sinn der Wort zu schließen.
And then again. "um darauß"
The closest I could think of is "darauf".
Or daraus.
🤔
The latter would be correct.
Oki dokie.
So. Das lange Wort ist viel zu lange um daraus auf den Sinn der Wort zu schließen.
What.
Goddamit.
Now. Why um and why auf. 🤔
It just doesn't make sense at all to have um and auf at the same time there.
"at hence on the sense of the word"
Why it doesn't sound right to me
I would delete the "um" and then everything will be alright.
Then genitive on "das Wort" is "des Wortes" I think.
So. Das lange Wort ist viel zu lange daraus auf den Sinn des Wortes zu schließen.
Are you sure you don't need that 'um'? ;)
I have no idea if I am going on the right way.
But it didn't make sense!
"at hence on"
That's the literal translation
Le literal traduction est faux.
*La traduction littérale est fausse. 😛
Proves my point :P
what does that auf belong to? Any verb? Is it on its own?
Isn't it on it's own? Can't see to which verb it could belong to.
auf etwas schließen (to deduce sth.)
But then it still doesn't make sense dat word order
Auf would be at the end of the sentence.
Not here.
Wait.
It could be right.
Holy I am confusing myself alone.
Then I can't see other mistakes... den is okay, I corrected the genitive...
What about the 'um'? ;)
I believe it should be "lang" and not "lange" since "lange" is an adverb not an adjective
the second lange I mean

Are you sure about that? To my mind they have the same meaning
not 100% sure, it just sounded weird to me so I looked it up and the dictionary said "lange" is an adverb
🤔 🤔
But "lang" can be declined to "lange" 🤔
^
Yeah, I think you're right
lang is more colloquial, that's all.
How to confuse Flops in once sentence. Give her "um" and then done.
Flappys most recent version of the sentence: Das lange Wort ist viel zu lange daraus auf den Sinn des Wortes zu schließen.
There's 1 mistake in that sentence.
@fair iron Duden lists lange only as adverb, whereas lang can be either an adjective or an adverb
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT UM MEANS
Oh, I assumed the conversation was about lange as an adverb.
I should have clarified. ^^
Don't tell me it's because I deleted the um, right...?
I can be wrong though 😂
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Is it that fokken last mistake?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
nope
Will you place it somewhere? If so, where?
there are at least two mistakes left
Hab ich Kommafehler übersehen? D:
👀
would it be better to change "daraus" to "davon"?

Solet, my poor heart. And me who was thinking I was at the end. 😦
if you are smart
What am I certain that it is a typo.
looking to typos
Dang I can't see it. Really. 😦
Don't worry, if it is not a Kommafehler I have no idea what second mistake Sol is talking about :D
Tip to say where it could be?
In the sentence.
Wow thanks Casca. I didn't know. 💯
Don't tell me I just need to add a comma.
Oh my god.
I am always happy to help, Flappy. ^^
Unrelated, but I think I'll call you something else come April 1st.
flappselei?
...
I won't say.
maybe
Oh course he won't say, it's a surprise. Like Chuck said that he'll do something on December 11th. 👀
I can't see the last mistake D:
flappsy
yes
do you think infinitives have a reason to stand alone in german?
You can do it, Flappy.
Stand alone...?
why is there an infinitive in this sentence anyway?

Fuzzy waving 😄
I did the best I could. If I had kept the tail on the eevee's right side, it would be even harder to notice.
^^
Because the tail is distracting?
My vision is impaired though, I literally can't see it waving
But everyone can so 😂 that's just me
Ohhhh
The lack of fingers could be the problem.
The lack of fingers is a blessing.
No more joysticks
Is blühen a state or a process?
Hummmmmmm
I thought "aufblühen" was the process
Because it has sein as auxiliary
Whereas blühen has haben
🤔
So I thought 'blühen" was the state of having flourished
Me neither, I just found it in a grammar book 😂
Duden says: Blüten haben; eine oder mehrere Blüten hervorgebracht haben, in Blüte stehen
That sounds like a state
I think
German is brilliant, I swear... damn
Nothing lacks an explanation
@placid heath btw, jap

Aaaargh. Wegen sowas und weil ich Gedichte nicht interpretieren kann hab ich mein Deutschabi verhagelt

Memes.

Um umzukommen, komme ich um?
Um 'um' um die Ecke herum zu bringen bringt man 'um' um die Ecke herum
:reeeeeee:
SO I AM BACK FOR THE FINALE.
🎉
It's over. Your team lost.
I was in my room.
Me too.
Wow, so was I.
You were also in my room?
No, in mine.
Wow, two's a party, three's a crowd!
Um um das 'um' zu kämpfen und um den Satz um die Fehler zu erleichtern sollte der 'um'-Gehalt um einiges erhöht werden
I hope you enjoyed your stay in Hesse, Arrem.
I took a looong time to notice that. owo
Flappys most recent version of the sentence: Das lange Wort ist viel zu lange daraus auf den Sinn des Wortes zu schließen.
There's 1 mistake in that sentence.
at least 1
I think it's because of that final verb.
Bur mmmh where maybe let's translate that
"The long word is much too long to predict the word's mistake."
So the um should be there.
OH WAIT.
mistake?
"The long word is much too long in order to predict the word's mistake." 🤔
Good, now I am not even sure about this.
The translation with mistake is incorrect
It was lovely, Casca. Almost as nice as
❤
Oh shoot.
Aw, Arrem! ❤
The long word is much too long in order to deduce its meaning
I think I might have that final mistake.
Flappys most recent version of the sentence: Das lange Wort ist viel zu lange, um daraus auf den Sinn des Wortes zu schließen.?
WOOOOO
oh my god weeee
I'm really confused about the "in order to" part. I don't know if my English is failing me, but if you say "The long word is much too long in order to deduce its meaning", to me that makes it sound like the word is intentionally too long to help deduce its meaning, which makes no sense
In order to or for its [...] to.
You mean it should rather be translated as "The long word is much too long for its meaning to be deduced"?
Yeah that for translation came into my mind too. I just decided to stick with in order to because the others used that already
Well, after this, I think I sm going to sleep. Oh my god I am so proud to have found almost all the mistakes in one row.

in one row?
Du hast aber das um umgebracht um den Satz um die Fehler zu erleichtern
Gute N8
Good night kleiner Fuchs.
Hehe.
Bonne nuit, Flappy.
Hey guys
I've noticed you offer some help with grammar and sentence construction and I could use some help.
My level is A1-A2
How can I help? ^^
I'm not sure. How do you usually handle something similar with other members in this channel?
That depends.
Other users usually post specific doubts/sentences/texts and ask for corrections
