well people have to consider that there is still a difference between native and fluent. While speaking english i dont even have to think about grammar or words. Sometimes i even "think" in english. But there are several moments where i just dont know the meaning of a word. Fluent isnt equal to knowing everything or being 100% perfect i think.

haha no i dont hope so. I got rid of my german accent years ago. Sometimes if there is an unknown word, i might start to pronounce them german-ish . But i think thats it. People still recognize that im not native, but they cant tell my origin.

@unique veldt Yea but thats not the reason why i would prefer to be native in english. I can read every literature in english. Sometimes i have to translate a single word, but thats totally fine with me. Its just if you have a non english native tongue, your structure in sentences might be slightly different compared to native tongue. And in some way i dont want people to recognize right of the bat that im not native in english. You can achieve so much with english because its just the dominant language.

Well it depends, my personal problem are the variety of accents. If you speak "normal american english" then its the easiest to understand. I think you know Jimmy Fallon, thats what i consider as a normal accent. But if you take the street slang or like the black american rapper accents, then i have troubles to understand them sometimes.
