Trying to play getting multiple errors

I am on debian 12 linux

when using middlemand installed using this tutorial : https://www.project1999.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2331603&postcount=19

i get "Error: 3" when I try to start middlemand from the terminal.

So I though " ill just play" so i went to the " getting started " page on the forrums grabbed the "latest files " which says "(V57)" and then copy/replaced them all, and then tripple checked they were replaced. now when i log in i get to the character select screen and one of the characters is named "your spells file is outdated" and at the bottom there is another character names "errorcode SP-1".

is the files on the website the wrong version of files?

Correct version of files, I just setup recently on Debian 12 as well. Worked flawlessly pretty much, didn't even need middlemand

On Linux it messes with one of the files when you unzip it, I think it's dll setup.dll or dxsetup.dll, no PC In front of me to check but the file gets capitalized when unzipped iirc, gotta make it lower case..
