I'm sure there's a large chunk of players who'd want a simple, story-and-beautiful-art focused experience, so I think a story mode could be a good addition. But I'd also like to see more intricate and unfair bullet hell patterns when fighting bosses and more mechanically involved minibosses. I think that core enemies are fine as they are for both experienced and story players, the difficulty could affect just bosses and minibosses
