#Gauss LOS indicator for own bot.

Fairly simple thing but I find myself hitting my own bot from time to time when firing with gauss, and since you have only 6 rounds before a long reload time it can be quite the punishment. While you could change the way it fires I think just having an indicator of some kind when the currently active gun is going to fire into your own bot would be nice.

It isn't terrible when not zoomed in as you can just see the conflict occurring but when zoomed in the indicator would be a very nice QOL thing without really changing the current reload mechanics for the railguns and still needing to design around firing arcs.

You could also stop the gun from firing period. As in you would click and the gun would simply not fire if it would hit your own bot. I'm not sure how this would feel to use honestly, would need something very obvious on screen like the crosshair becoming a red X if you can't fire and some kind of audio feedback when you try to fire and it fails.

Are the laser pointers not enough to indicate you would shoot yourself? I believe those come from the gun itself

I've noticed they can blend in with the surroundings sometimes.

Maybe this can be improved by just making the laser pointer stand out more for the user?

For the laser dot where it hits the world it gets obscured at long distances by your own crosshair so it's not a very reliable way to determine if the LOS is blocked as you'd be relying on it's trail existing or not.

There is the laser line that comes off the gun itself but in some orientations it can be hard to see as it's near the edge of the screen and covered by the scope blur ontop of that. Depending on what map you're on and how bright the background is it might be hard to see for the user.

This is a really stupid thing to do in general but if anyone tries to build their gauss far from the C.O.M. the laser is too far from the camera to be seen.

I am still of the opinion that having a hud element like the crosshair turn into a X would be more user friendly. Another option would be to extend the gauss laser lines the emanate from the gun itself. Would just have to make sure it is easily visible on screen for different builds while also not cluttering the screen with giant blue line.

ah you have bore sight turned off, that explains why you cant see it in the scope

that's a setting?

yeah that should probably draw the laser all the way to the reticle in regular scope
