#Rivet Rifle Crosshair Inaccurate

Especially in close combat aiming directly for enemy guns results in the projectile hitting lower than it should.
I've also had it happen multiple times, where the crosshair could be put on an enemy the guns could not actually hit due to an elevation difference.
I have no clue how crosshairs work in Procelio, but if I had to take a guess it's the camera being too high that's causing this.

This is all referring to a ground bot.

The crosshair is on the center of the screen

#

Whatever point the crosshair is aiming at, the guns also aim at

#

The guns are aiming from a lower position, however, so will hit lower-lying things in the way

#

I do not know how to fix this in a satisfying way

How is the position of the ADS camera currently determined?

what ADS camera?

#

Right click just changes FOV

#

We should probably do something about that

Oh

#

Well the way War Thunder does it is put the ADS camera at the tip of the gun that is currently selected, making you see what the gun can see

#

It also has a little circular indicator that shows you where the gun is actually pointed

Considered that originally; the problem is in cycling between guns (for everything other than maybe rail)

Could do something like calculating the average position of the weapons on a bot and put the camera there

#

Or put it on the lowest weapon

probably a good idea

@slate yoke You're Mr. Useful Game Design Thoughts person - any opinions?

Having the position of the camera change whenever you zoom would make the game basically unplayable. Also like you said you have more than one gun. I think it's ok to expect people to be mindful of the fact that what they can see is not necessarily what their weapon has line of sight to hit

cycle camera on a high rate of fire weapon like rivet will cause severe dizzy

#

but not cycle it will cause only one of them can aim correct

I don’t think you need perfect knowledge of what every individual gun can see, but I do think the current system could be better
