I copied my Cyberpunk 2077 install to a different location and then updated the game install path in Heroic Launcher to point to the new location. When I start up Nexus Mod App, it throws these exceptions on launch

As a workaround, I had to delete the ~/.local/share/NexusMods.App folder.

If you didn't update it in Heroics UI you probably didn't do it in the correct way for the app to see it

So here's the full sequence of events.

  1. I had CP2077 installed on a Windows drive.
  2. Under Linux, I had CP2077 setup in Heroic pointing to the location on the Windows drive.
  3. I then tried modding that install using NexusMods.App but ran into various issues.
  4. I undeployed all the mods but couldn't launch CP2077 supposedly unmodded so I guessed that I had damaged the install somehow.
  5. I rebooted back into Windows and Repaired the install using GOG Galaxy (which downloaded the entire damn game) and then booted back into Linux.
  6. I copied the CP2077 install folder from my Windows drive to my Linux drive and updated the game install path in Heroic to point to the new location.
  7. At this point, I was able to launch CP2077 unmodded from Heroic.
  8. I launched NexusMods.App and these exceptions occurred.
