Will uploading an update for a housing mod I made delete a players items stored in containers?

I'm new to modding and I just made a player home mod and published it to nexus, now I've noticed something I need to add. Will publishing an update delete any items players may have stored in chests, dressers ect?

If it does, Is there a specific procedure to publish an update for your mod without a player losing their items?

I would mention about making a backup of their saves before updating, but as long as you dont remove or edit the containers themselves, no issues should arise afaik
