Hey everyone!

Here is my analysis for Armadon as per the most recent 1.3.8 update in June
2025

Overview: Armadon is a slow, physically bulky physical attacker that is often capable of taking multiple physical hits over the course of a match while dealing back respectable damage in return. Its strong physical STAB in Flying Kick alongside many coverage options such as Stone Fist, Splatter, and Body Blast make it difficult to switch into (hitting many types super effectively) and traits such as Caffeinated, Strategist, and Vaccinated can help to augment its damage further or prevent a crippling status. As a result, Armadon can be a good asset to slower paced, bulky offense teams, often supported by Blessed Grounds, due to it's difficulty to remove without much investment into its defensive stats. In practice though, its extremely low speed stat, which really only naturally outspeeds Vulbrute without investment, forces it to have to take hits from opponents more often that others, making it extremely susceptible to being chipped down. While you can sacrifice some bulk for more speed, it does require large amounts of stat points to do so. Additionally, its poor Special Defense and single resist to Ghost can lead it to struggles to find safe entry points and its lack of recovery and team support utility moves make it quite predictable and easy to play around. Overall, Armadon is one of the weaker Coromon in the game at the moment, but does have some unique traits that allow it to work well into certain match ups.

Stats at level 50:

**HP: **144
Attack: 111
**Defense: **139
Special Attack: 61
Special Defense: 70
Speed: 49

**Traits: **

Caffeinated: Naturally increases SP by 9 points at level 50. This allows Armadon to use an Overcharger Gem more effectively or make use of some of its stat points elsewhere

Vaccinated: Makes the user immune to the poison status. Very good for a physical attacker who has no ability to remove status

Strategist: Increases Armadon's crit change when moving second, which it normally does due to its low speed stat. It also combines really well with Flying Kick which also increases your crit chance. In practice, this is often used with an Enhancer Gem on Armadil to give you access to Strategist ++ which allows you to crit on every attack and deal a heavy bleed as well.

Patdown: Allows you to detect held items, similar to Frisk in Pokemon. It usually isn't particularly useful, but Patdown+ on Armadil can be used with no item to steal one off an opponent which can definitely come in handy vs bulky teams

This Skin: Makes you immune to critical hits and at higher levels, immune to Cut damage. Not really useful in most situations

Hoarder: A PvE ability to let you find items. Don't use it in PvP.

Moveset #1: Defensive Wall

Trait: Vaccinated for Poison Immunity. Caffeinated can be used too to save on stat points and allocate them elsewhere

Item: Revitalizer Gem, Canul Fruit, Kiwano Rock, Maca Stone

Basic Stat Spread: 60 HP / 60 Defense / 6 SP
Alternative Stat Spread: 60 HP / 60 Special Defense / 6 SP to be a mixed wall

Moves:

Flying Kick
Body Blast
Splatter
Sumo Stance/Stone Fist

Description: A physically defensive set for Armadon that works as a neutral switch in to almost every physical move in the game due to only being to weak 1 attack, Poison Chomp. With Vaccinated, it also can act as a switch in to predicted Toxic Clouds from things like Malavite, Magnamire, and Chonktoad and hit back for some decent chip damage. While Revitalizer is easily the best item on it, it is probably better to give that to another teammate with more resists, so the other options are there for some variety. Kiwano Rock is particularly noteworthy in that it can allow Armadon to get some chip on physical attackers using contact moves on switch in and make them think twice before using one once the item as been revealed. The attacking options seen here are designed to give him some decent coverage, with Body Blast being particularly noteworthy due to this set sticking around for a while, giving you a decent chance to access its knockdown effect over the course of a longer match. Finally, its last move can either be Sumo Stance for additional physical damage reduction (keeping in mind how this is a priority move for instant reduction) or Stone Fist for more coverage against Electric Types.

Moveset 2: Strategist++ Attacker

Trait: Strategist ++ achieved by running a devolved Armadil with the Enhancer Gem or a devolved Armado if you wanna go crazy

**Item: **Enhancer Gem to achieve the Strategist ++ Trait on Armadil or a Pista Stone on a devolved Armado for insane damage

**Basic Stat Spread: **60 HP / 60 Attack / 6 SP

Moves:

Flying Kick
Body Blast
Splatter
Epiphany/Phantom Spike/Stone Fist

Description: One of the most damaging ways to run any member of the Armado line due to automatically turning every attack into a critical hit when some thing moves before you and applying a heavy bleed. The great part about this is that this effect is also active on switch, making this very difficult to switch in on safely. The downside is that since you cannot run any speed to get the most out of this and you are devolving, you are significantly less tanky. As a result, good prediction or the use of Rubber Web or Spectral Lattice support will allow you to get the most out of this highly damaging move set. In terms of attacks, running any of these moves isn't necessary for the set to work, so any combination of them you feel you need will be just fine. Flying Kick obviously hits the hardest overall due to STAB, but any combination of Splatter, Body Blast, Stone Fist, and even Phantom Spike can be used. Additionally, Epiphany can be a set up alternative as well to boost your attack and defense further while forgoing a coverage move and allow it to break through opponents faster with a +1 Critical hit.

Moveset #3: Overcharger Attacker

Trait: Caffeinated to make use of the Overcharger Gem for more damage, but Vaccinated can be used to for a more defensive boosting set

Item: Overcharger Gem / Rubber Rock / Canul Fruit

Basic Stat Spread: 38 HP / 60 Attack / 14 Speed / 14 SP
Alternative Stat Spread: 60 HP / 60 Special Defense / 6 SP to allow you to tank a few special hits while you boost your physical offense and defense

Moves:

Flying Kick
Body Blast
Splatter
Epiphany/Phantom Spike/Stone Fist

Description: An attacking move set for a more aggressive Armadon. While this does sacrifice some bulk, being able to actually out speed things allows you to get the jump on your opponent for once. In the stat spread, 14 speed points gives you enough to outpace an uninvested Skelatops and anything slower than it that it normally wouldn't outspeed such as Orotchy, Millidont, and Rhynobuzz. Just like the other move sets, the typical coverage is used, but Epiphany can also be used again in place of coverage for more damage on set up. This can also be used alongside the alternative, specially bulky stat spread to make you very hard to take down while you set up. Furthermore, The use of a Rubber Rock in place of an Overcharger Gem can be used to avoid having to deal with contact effects from things such as Spiked Body on Arctiram/Glacikid and Slitherpin/Serpike, Toxic Skin on Chonktoad, and anything running a Kiwano Rock at the cost of less damage. In doing so, you can also then allocate those stat points into SP elsewhere or switch your ability to Vaccinated for the poison immunity.
