I explored the lower city instead of rushing through the main quest - which seems to be something you should not do. Found the apothecary before I got the main quest that leads to him. Killed the bandits and the bandit boss.

Then many hours later I return to the main quest and get to the part where you need to talk to the apothecary. I get there, and the bandit boss has respawned. I kill him again, and now the apothecary is completely unresponsive. I can't even use him as a merchant. Tried everything - dying, resting, talking to the Watcher, talking to the guy at the Embassy. Nothing works. I'm just stuck.

Do you remember how you got them to fight you? Did you talk to a certain NPC? Or did they just become hostil when you walked up?

I spoke to him, he was surrounded by the bandits. A dialogue happened, I chose the (attack) option and the bandit boss joined the fight.

Searching reddit and obsidian forums it seems there's MANY who are stuck in the same way I am. Same exact thing happening.

Ya, this is high priority for us to figure out and fix asap.

When you say Bandit boss, do you mean the Ogre or the Aumua that was bullying the apothecast?

There is no bandit boss bullying the apothecary. Only some thugs. The bandit boss joins the fight however.

Ya ya, got thanks. I'm actively seeing if I can get this to happen on my machine so we can debug it and fix it. All this context helps immensely, thank you so much!

Any update if this will be fixed soon? I've completely explored the whole map and just want go continue with the game 😦
