I've been sitting on this project for a while, and finally decided I want to get it to a releasable state. I'm currently rebuilding it in 4.6 with more polish, and I think I'm 2/3 of the way to getting a basic demo together that I can put out on itch

I had a lot of fun, you have me wishing there were more levels!
a bunch of minor feedback:

Took a while to figure out how to delete blocks (I intuitively tried moving the part to the parts menu to "put it back" similar to kerbal space program, then tried the delete key, and the i discovered it was backspace)

Initially got scared when I deleted the camera lol

I find it a bit weird that when moving a block, its hologram doesn't become solid when you click (only becoming solid after you left/right click again)

My ship preview screenshot in the load menu contained a bit of the editor UI

I love the color scheme system ( im totally stealing that >:3 )
Would be nice to be able to set default color schemes for blocks

Kinda wish my ship showed up behind the menus with a subtle moving animation

Fuel tank can be clipped into blocks by placing them on the back
All blocks can be clipped if you get the right angle to place them

Starry background is very noisy and distracting when turning quickly (my monitor may be making this worse)

Rotation controls are missing an axis so sometimes it can feel hard to rotate things

It is a little bit tedious to place many of the same (especially rotated) blocks

Bottom of my ship is very dark in the editor

Mirror mode and a way to export your ship to share with a friend would be awesome

bugs:

Some of my side thrusters were stuck on & making noise in the editor (I was holding the keys down in the tutorial before it switched to the menu if that helps)

Got some errors, ~30 of these. Unfortunately do not know what I was doing when they happened

A sandbox mode where you can spawn with unlimited weight and cost would be very silly :3
also i know its a big ask but this game would be aweome in multiplayer
