How would you make this screen look more interesting?

This is the current state of my balatro-like typing game. I think the whole window is looking really boring and would like some help on how to make this more appealing to the eye. My problem is that i'd still like to keep the retro-pc look as you can see in the vid, so adding some flashy effects to the background may not fit. any ideas? Also sorry for the bad vid quality, i had to compress it. Thanks in advance :)

I also thought about making a 3d desk, but it would just be too much work for me as im really bad at 3d art

it looks unfinished. add a bezel around the screen, maybe raise it up from the keyboard a bit so you can draw the stand. absolutely have a desk or somethign there, and a wall or something behind stuff
