Project: 2D pixel art indie game (Stardew Valley / Brotato / Vampire Survivors / Domina vibes) launching on Steam

Hiring:

  • 1 Godot Developer (GDScript, 2D systems)
  • 1 Pixel Artist (Aseprite, sprites/tilesets/animations)

Engine: Godot
Art Tool: Aseprite (preferred)
Team Size: Small, focused (2 positions total)
Timeline: 6 months to launch

Compensation:

  • Task-based: $20-200 per completed feature/asset
  • Sprint bonuses: $25/sprint when all tasks done
  • 5% revenue share if launched within 6 months
  • Expected: $150-250/month based on delivery

Sounds like an interesting project, but the pay rate seems quite low. 6 months at $150-250 a month means $900-$1500 for the entire project. At something like $30/hour, a quite reasonable (if not low) rate for a developer, that's 30-50 hours of developer time. So something like a week of fulltime development.
