Try setting the motion mode of all physics bodies to floating instead of grounded, since youre working with a top down perspective, you dont want gravity to pull all objects down, floating ensures all collisions are considered walls instead of walls and floors.

Yeah, this is specifically caused by the floor snapping characterbodies use in sidescrollers.
