Hello! I am trying to get a Prototype to base my own game on but I don't have the time (or coding smarts) to develop a new system.

There is a game on steam called "airmen" by airship games. I want to try and recreate the gameplay of. I am trying to keep the prototype project under 150$ there are a couple things that would be a priority for this project.

One would be a build world where a player character can fly around and build a modular ship.

There should be a parts catalog that the player can choose from and assemble a ship based on a grid in a build world.

The player should be able to save and load the ship.

The important ship parts that I want to be in the prototype are the following: a hull plate, a beam, a captains seat(that controls the vehicle) a basic cannon turret, an engine, a static cannon, a respawn chamber, a tool bench a balloon (a block of some sort that floats the vehicle, a propeller and a sub vehicle launcher that has some sort of flying vehicles on it.

The build world object vehicle should be able to be selected and loaded into a super basic multiplayer map. All of this can be placeholder assets, I moreso care mainly about the build systems, the loading system and a player being able to run around on a vehicle. That is the main idea I am going after would a prototype like this be in budget for you?

This is the actual game I want to base the systems off of, this should give an idea of the systems I am going for:

If you have any questions I can elaborate on any of this topic

I have posted this on fiver and have not had much luck, I am prety easy on any of the requirements but reach out and we can talk about it 🙂

Airmen is a first person shooter where players build and battle their own custom airships. Start with an empty hangar and build a steampunk airship piece by piece. Once your ship is ready, you and up to four friends can crew your airship toge...

If you're talking about $150 for everything you're looking for, it's really hard (if not impossible) to find someone who can do it for that price.

If we talk about weekly or monthly payments, it might be different, given that what you are looking for is an "expensive" mechanic, although perhaps by putting together many addons you can get there, although limited in customization without breaking anything

It looks like a full-featured modelling app, perhaps you can find some Godot plugin like that and re-use it inside the gameplay, because they tend to be MIT-licensed, unlike the other engines where you're forced to reinvent the wheel

So. This is a multiple month project.

Yes, multiple month project. All systems needs to be networked which already would eliminate a massive amount of assets you could use, and the project is 3D. You need a very good programmer, one that will not work for just 150.

No, making single player first is not an option. Either you do fully multiplayer from the start or you don't.

Also, I just realized it might be an April Fools joke

I don't think it's an April Fools joke, it's just a lot of beginners don't understand that one can't just draw an extra feature into a game as an artist would add a new art asset.

Hi Rinzik,

I realize that you may not understand the scope of what you're asking for, so let me try to put it into perspective for you.

This is the equivalent of being told to do house chores for 8 hours straight, every day, for a month. The chores aren't easy, either; you're cleaning the gutters, you're bathing the pets, you're shampooing the carpets, all the tedious and difficult ones you hate doing most. Every day, for 8 hours, no breaks, and it's not even something you care much about.

Your parents say they'll reward you at the end with half of a chocolate bar.

Does that seem worth it to you?
