Checkers Game Project

Hi guys !
I am knew at coding and i want help to learn how to code a 2D checkers board game
I want to make a variant of the checkers game. Here is a picture to describe what i really want to
Before that i want to get all the skills i will need to make the game
can you show me a patch that i can follow to familiarize the Godot script language and also the Godot environment

this is what the game will look like
each piece are the same and they can move up left right(per 1 squares only excepted the queen) and only the queen can move down

i don't know where to start i already design the board with figma
