Space simulator that generates a SolarSystems up to 2000!

and you can adjust the amount of solar systems generated in the menu (max 12000)

Travel between planets and stars seamlessly!

Controls

. W A S D > Movement
. Mouse Scroll ( Up & Down) > Increase and decrease speed
. Space & Ctrl > Moving up, down relative to direction your looking at
. Shift & Alt > Double the speed or divide it in half
. F2 > Restart
. F10 > Fullscreen
. N > Hides the hud
. Esc > Return to the menu

Please Note

Includes solar systems with planets and even moon but not all of them will include moons or planets.

Each star can have up to 12 planets and each planet can have up to 4 moons!

To travel between stars, firstly you need to find a star by moving your mouse then increase the speed and travel towards it, it requires some tries to reach it but if you gradually slow down you will reach it!

Change Log

  1. Optimized the tool to support up to 12000 stars at maximum
  2. Added a slider in the menu to allow the user to adjust how much stars can be generated from 1 to 12k max
  3. Stars can generate from 0 up to 12 planets and each planet has a chance to generate from 0 to 4 moons!
  4. Dynamic atmosphere that will adjust the world around you
  5. LOD (level of detail) so it causes less lag to run and load
  6. Planets can have mixed atmospheres with two colors
  7. Light Scatter as planets will have a thin layer that scatters light between day and night
  8. Planets got new ring generation

This is really cool, its like a little Space Engine inside godot. I'm curious how you got the huge coordinates and speeds to work. Did you compile the engine with double prescision, or is it all viewports inside of viewports with floating origin & velocity?

Oh so you didn't have to make local space, stellar space coordinates, etc... similar to how Kerbal Space Program does it?

Looks really cool! Is this made in godot4? I’m working on a universal VR injector for Godot 4 so might try it out with this if so!
