bdw when you dont know what something is the fastest way is to just ask chatgpt to tell you "what is a sprite in godot explain to me like im 5 years old" and you will get a answer quickly

I have never made a game in my life ,but shouldnt you first just make something minimal that only has code in it and worry about sprites in the end ?

or at least have some very basic "sprites" that are mspaint doodles
