Hey, I'm Matt (American). To introduce myself: I'm a Senior Engineer by day, with about 8 years of experience. I dabble in game dev in my free time to break the monotony of enterprise Java.
For the last 8 months or so, I've been working on a Tactics RPG similar to FF: Tactics, Tactics Ogre, etc. Here is a link to a small combat demo on Itch: https://yesterdaydev.itch.io/guild-tactics
I have gotten pretty far on the project alone in art, design, and programming. However, its just kind of draining and eventually kinda boring to be doing it alone. I have also seem to hit a sort of wall with ideas- I had plenty of ideas for combat, but nothing for the rest of the game (story, outer-combat gameplay, characters, etc).
So, I figured I would see if there was anyone else with experience and free time that was interested in bringing a project to the finish line or even helping expand more on what I have. At the moment, there is at least a decent vertical slice and a heavy amount of logic implemented. There is also complete git history, as well as a Trello board, to help anyone 'onboard' if needed.
I guess I should maybe clarify what kind of person(s) I'm looking for. Considering the nature of the game and what I need, more programmers are great but if you are only a programmer it might not be the best fit. Team members that can code and contribute to ideas/writing, brownie points for [pixel] art or sound design, are preferred.
Obviously, some experience with tactics games (and game dev in general) is recommended.
Its a rev-share project, sorry to be that guy. As much as I'd like to pay you, I've been doing this for free for 8 months with the intent to finish it and hopefully self publish. Then maybe make some money if people like it, worst case its at least a decent project for a resume. If that doesn't interest you and you prefer being paid then by all means, I'm not offended.
