the before is without the shader and the after is with it? No sprite changes in between??
yup :)
well sorta. there's also a depth map that represents how far each pixel is from the camera
so there's actually two versions of every sprite, there's one that's just flat coloring, and then a black and white depth map of the sprite
there's also a material map but thats not rlly being used on this example. the material map can just be used to represent reflectiveness and other material attributes
Oh well I suppose you usually have that from parallax effects
