#Godot is so cool, I was able to make this autobattler in 4 months. How's it look?

Excited to share the project I've been working on for the past few months! Neon Auto Party, an small Cyberpunk/Lovecraftian party based auto battler that encourages you to explore synergies and craft an unstoppable team!

The game is very much in a prototyping phase but I want to start getting feedback on it's general feel early on. So I'm opening up a play test to those who want to try it out early and are willing to provide feedback.

If you're interested in trying it out it's on Itch:

Would love to hear what you think!

I tried it and it was quite fun gdtux . I do think it would benefit a lot from having some kind of tutorial and introducing each thing little by little. Something to achieve could be nice too, so it adds motivation to keep playing. Great work, keep it up gdparty

Thanks! This info will be helpful thanks again and good luck
Also as a side note, you could add some sort of a reason for the player to keep playing a main quest would be good

Yeah I hear ya. All those features are in the works but I'm trying to validate the core gameplay loop first.

Making some updates to the tooltips! Also starting to play with a difficulty system (Think like Hades Heat mechanic).

Got a update I'd love to hear some feedback on:

Added new "Stress" system. What's the highest Stress level you can beat?
You can now find some random chests with 1-3 free items in it to help you out!
Balance has been tuned up. It'll still be pretty easy on Stress 0 though.
New affixes you are somewhat forced to play around.
Lots of polish with animations to help you understand what's happening on the battlefield
Tooltips are pretty dialed in now. There maybe some weird things here and there but hopefully they are much more clear about what the do.

Please please please give feedback (good and bad) in and post your screens of how in Stress levels you can climb!

Some upcoming enemies for the game

For 4 months of work this is very impressive (speaking as a can't-code-to-save-my-life programmer). And those new enemies, as well as the updates you've made so far, look very cool! gdthumbsup

Next update is just around the corner. I'm really excited for this one as it's pretty close to "feature" complete for the core game. You'll notice here a new unit and the ability to modify your party cause ya can't take em all now!

Update is here! Very excited. Here's the new features:

Skill Leveling System
Previously I just gave the whole party a few levels. Now you'll gain levels as you complete waves. Can't go higher than level 6 atm but I feel like this is enough to get a good sense of the options.

New Unit
A new unit has been added, Sighted, a strong hybrid healer/DoT damage dealer who can swing heavily into either role base on how you build them.

Party System
You can now select the 6 units you bring into each journey with you. I'm hoping this is a strategic point that will offer a lot of options as the roster expands.

Unit Items
The items available in the pool will change based on what units you bring along with you! Each unit has a couple of items they provide the pool and I'm hoping this is something that keeps those decisions nuanced and deep.

Additional things:

  • Tooltips were heavily worked and reworked. There's two versions for the level of detail you want to know.
  • Lots of refactoring of stats under the hood to make sure they function as expected
  • UI updates to brighten up the environment
  • Finally added pyromatic's last ability

Let me know what you think in #1115066196765704233 and how far you can get within the stress system!

Made a big pivot that I'd love to hear feedback about. It basically turns every unit into a deck of cards that expands as your units level up. I'm hoping this system brings clarity to the battle system.

Please try this version out and let me know if this direction is a positive move for the game. Personally I'm leaning towards it but if I get strong feedback that it's worse I want to hear it.
