Rivers on Earth and Mars in the eco-sandbox game I haven't named yet

I thought this was pretty cool. Rain and snow (from the atmosphere model in my prev video) now collects on the planet's surface, eroding the surface and depositing the sediment downstream. The water can also seep into the soil as groundwater.

they just get narrower. I'm not really happy with that, but it is more or less standard in the climate modelling field. it causes big problems there too, you end up having to fourier filter out standing waves from the polar circulation. I have half a mind to just not let the player interact with anything N/S of 80 degrees but also polar ecosystems are important /shrug
