Bring back dedicated servers and server list like in No More Room in Hell 1!

No More Room in Hell 1 remains an excellent game to this day. Despite being released years ago, it continues to be one of the best in its genre in my opinion, with a considerably high player base even today. I can say that one of the things that maintains this player base is the community servers.

It is crucial that everyone has the option to host a dedicated server, both to save costs for developers by not having to rent servers, and because of the vast number of options, ping rates, and regions we can choose from for our comfort.

Today in No More Room in Hell 2, we face ping issues. One example is the South American region: there are 12 countries in South America, and at the moment, I believe there is only a server in Brazil, completely disregarding the neighboring countries. Unfortunately, there is no option to choose the most comfortable server for gameplay.

I understand that the game is still in early access and this might change in the future, but in my opinion, there are many features from No More Room in Hell 1 that would be essential to implement in No More Room in Hell 2.

As long as we have the current matchmaking system (meaning you can't enter a match mid-game) I don't see why we should have a server list. I would rather prefer something like a lobby system. We should be able to create public lobbies, not just the current friends-only squads. These lobbies then would be listed allowing players to browse and join whichever they feel like. And then the lobby host could start the match with the amount of Responders they want. On the difficulty they want.
This could be a solution to avoid the 3-4 player Nightmare matches too.

The reality is that player-dedicated servers are currently considered indispensable. Queue times for finding matches in South America are enormous, ping rates are mediocre, and similar issues persist. If there were a server list and the ability to create dedicated servers, I'm certain these problems wouldn't be occurring.

Even with some bugs, the game is good - it only falls short in terms of lobby and server systems.

Regarding the matchmaking system, while I completely understand the concept, it's currently impossible to play because either matches aren't found or it takes an extremely long time. The matchmaking system could be adapted to work with player-hosted servers and, most importantly, allow for solo play.

Devs can certainly save server money by relying on us players with the dedicated servers. The game would also be saved from doom.

And what matters the most: nmrih1 provides server list and dedicated servers. nmrih2 is supposed to offer at least the same.

I want to play the game but simply can't, because South America servers simply don't have enough players.

Can't really understand the thought process behind choosing to do matchmaking like this instead of following what already worked in NMRIH 1.

And i don't really feel like coming here asking for matches and entering Discord calls
