overall the min for good quality work should be like 30-40. handmade thumbnails are basically illustrations and good ones can cost a lot id say 60+ they pay like 10 tho

also no one asks for concept art when its like very important for games too. devs cant just make something and think its good cuz its most likely not, its most likely missing a lot of visual language, lore, or other things. you need a concept artist to make your stuff pop out more.

concept art is very iterative specially good concept art, expressing ideas through design and visual communication is an extremely hard task to achieve, personally if ur going for roblox concept art id say 100 (if u have a good skill level) and for non roblox concept art much much more since not everyone has the skill to do proper anatomy, creature designs or armors with high fidelity while keeping the designs interesting

Not all concept art is good, and being a good concept artist is not linked to ur drawing level whatsoever, u could be an artist the level of leonardo da vinci and still be a shit concept artist

(Thought art level improves ur visual communication a LOT and does affect if ur also good at being creative and communicating well)

anyways so if you start with blocks its crazier cuz you need to improvise and things can go unexpectedly. id rather have full control of what im trying to achieve specially cuz im not that good at focusing on details

most of the lineart might also disappear if i polish it too much but i like keeping some lines

idk the procedure but a good one i would do is well... the thing i said before. i would get references, make a sketch, draw the lineart, add a base color, add the actual colors, and in this case just draw the shadows and highlights manually. and then add a outer glow effect to the base color for the outline

i never draw the shadows and lights "manually" tho. Like; for the shadows i just add a clipping mask clipped to the base color with a multiply layer style and filled with the color i want (with some transparency too) and then i add the lights on an overlay layer style clipped to the base color by thinking where the light is coming from and thinking about the objects in 3d

and i draw the lights with a brush with pressure transparency

i think thats how it works irl. everything is dark and there is light. thats what i do kinda but i enhance the shadows to look better

I think ur the same lol it's just the coloring that ruins it. It's very different doing anatomy studies from direct reference than drawing characters. As u can see most ur paper work is direct studies so when u go out of studies into anime style and painting it just looks wonky
