Yknow, I've been around here for a** good while** and every now and then I come across someone giving a critique that is very blank and not likely being able to help the creator at all. So here's the rule of thumb for ya to follow when you want to critique someone that greatly benefits them. Ripped them off from the internet
THE FOUR PARTS OF ART CRITIQUE

Describing, analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating
1. State the obvious and describe what can be objectively perceived as.
2. Explain how the parts of the artwork work together.
3. Make a statement about what the artwork expresses.
4. Evaluate how well the artwork met the criteria informed by the style of work.
WHY IS CRITIQUE IMPORTANT
The purpose of an art critique is to help inform the artist, both pointing out the strong and weak points of an artwork, not just the bad points. This is an especially important note because their (art critiques) purpose is beneficial to the person receiving the information.
Think of it as helpful and valuable advice for your art.
