I try and launch the mods with my subnautica exe from epic games, and instead of launching it gives me an error.

Have you tried adding the game manually in the app's "Add Game" section? I've encountered this problem with some games before, and it was solved when I added the game manually.

We currently do not support Epic platform for Subnautica 2, we have put in the request but no page or customizations yet, we will keep you guys posted.
