I have been using WAND (formerly WeMod) for more than four years on my current account, and since 2020 on a previous account. Throughout that time, I have consistently appreciated both the platform itself and the service it has provided to its community. I also fully understand and support the idea of reserving certain features for paying subscribers; that has never been an issue for me.
That said, placing the core service behind a strict two-hour daily timer came as a genuine shock. The decision feels disconnected from the longtime users who have supported WAND since its earlier years and new users alike. I find it difficult to believe that such a drastic restriction is the only viable way to encourage subscription growth. Surely there are less controversial and less disruptive alternatives that could achieve the same goal without alienating much of the community.
While many of my friends have already chosen to leave the platform, I do not believe a single poor decision necessarily warrants abandoning it altogether. I intend to remain attentive to how the WAND team responds to the feedback it has received and what actions it chooses to take moving forward.
My hope is that whatever adjustments or compromises are ultimately made will help restore goodwill within the community and alleviate the frustration this update has caused among many longtime users. However, if no meaningful changes are made, I would ultimately and reluctantly have to reconsider continuing to use the platform myself.
