I bought the game on Steam. I don't use any other mods. I play in single-player mode. No error messages. It still doesn't work, the animals still hear me.

Have you got disable animal detection on? Keep in mind that if you're only using silent, animals can still detect you if you get within range. The trainer was working fine for me, I was able to walk through shrubs and bushes in front of the deer without alerting them. The moment i stepped out in front of them they spotted me.

Yes, I deactivated animal detection.

Yesterday, I had silent mode activated, was walking through the forest, and a fox heard me from a distance.
