I've been really enjoying Wand for the last two months or so, even though I've had a Wemod account since 2020. I've been playing through games that I couldn't finish; things that were difficult in areas etc that I didn't want to stress out about. I did a second full playthrough of Salt and Sanctuary with casual cheats (I earned it the first time), finished Remnant, have been playing Dark Souls 3 and enjoying that story, using cheats wherever it became very difficult, and I've been playing other things like the Metro series, etc. I love using Wand to buff me up a little to make games easier and more fun for me when I don't have time to 'try harder'.
Tonight, out of the blue, Wand started blocking me from using it without going Pro with that time limit.
What a terrible idea.
Wand, you guys already have plenty of things to upsell, and already subscription-gate features etc. You provide value, and the value for subscribing is clear.
You should still include the free tier without this damned time limit. It's awful.
Honestly, it's shady and frustrating, after using the free options for some time now, and if you are going to block me like that, I'll just go elsewhere and find another way. I will not subscribe by being limited in such a shady way. I've actually considered trying the paid subscription just because of the extra features. But if I'm strongarmed into it by you blocking my fun, I won't.
Remove that time limit for free users. It really makes you look bad, and will cost you my business at least.
Edit: I saw the announcement. It's still very distastful. No gamers play for only 2 hours. If you want to tighten the screws to funnel more people to the Pro plan, maybe limit the number of active mods to 2-3 at a time or something so there's more incentive to subscribe. Don't use a time limit. That's so scummy.
