Hi, I've recently been trying Wand after it rebranded from Wemod, and it seems to keep crashing or closing while the game is open. Using Num 1 also crashes the mod.

I've tried it on Tempest Rising, Dredge and Darkest Dungeon so far. I've also uninstalled and removed all the data from Local and Roaming, as I read from one of the Support topics here, but it's still not working. Please help.

Okay I suspect it might be Windows Defender - it blocked me from accessing a Fling trainer from Tempest Rising. How do I make it add an Exception for Wand?

Reinstall
  1. Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall Wand.
  2. Find and delete these folders:
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Wand
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\Wand
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reinstall Wand by downloading from: https://wand.com/download

AV Exception

It's possible that your antivirus software is causing interference. Try whitelisting or adding exceptions for the following folders:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Wand
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Wand

Okay, used the exceptions and tried turning off the Overlay. One of those seems to have worked

For Dredge at least

#

testing on the others now

#

Oh, never mind, Tempest Rising just had an update so the mod probably needs to catch up.

#

I'll try with DD

Where do I find the PC specs?

#

It's working for DD too. So most likely for most games

#

And I'm not sure if it's the overlay, let me double check

Okay, yes

#

the overlay is causing the issue, it closed when I had it open

#

CPU is Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-8400 CPU

#

I've got 2 GPUs it looks like, an Nvidia GeForce GT 620 and Intel (R) UHD Graphics 630

#

Also this is Windows 11

#

if that's relevant

Based on what we're seeing your system is likely going to have trouble with overlays and performance across most titles. Your GPU is over 14 years old, which means your hardware is unfortunately well beyond what's considered optimal for today's applications.

For now, the best workaround would be to disable the overlay on any titles giving you trouble, or you can turn it off entirely through the app's main settings page. That should help smooth things out!
