#Wand not attaching to games

I've been having issues with getting Wand to work. Last I can confirm the app worked was around Feb 28.

Current version: v12.15.0
Firewall etc has always been off, no change there.

Issues:

  1. Wand does not launch the games from Steam after hitting Play

  2. Stuck infinitely on "Loading..." with no "failure" error messages showing (which it did previously when it failed to load)

  3. Tried on a few games, including the one that last worked in Feb, all same issues.

  4. If selecting "Launch without mods", app manages to launch the game on Steam. Hitting Play after launching the game results with the same "Loading..." loop.

Troubleshoot Steps:

  1. Basic fixes
  2. Full clean reinstall (including deletion of AppData folders)

Already did that as well, Windows and Graphics drivers up to date

Is there any way to rollback to the earlier app version to test?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to roll back to an earlier version of the app. We always recommend using the latest version, as updates usually include fixes and improvements.

Can I please confirm if this is happening to all games?

Yes, as mentioned, tried on multiple games, including ones that were working in Feb without issues. All have the same issue

Thank you for checking. The issue likely stems from your Windows... When Windows interferes at the system level, there’s only so much we can do from our side. The best next step would be to try creating a new Windows user profile and testing it there to see if the issue still occurs (though there are no guarantees this will resolve the issue). FrogePray

Have you confirmed that your system meets all the minimum requirements? You can check them here: https://wand.com/support/en/articles/11928009-system-requirements-supported-operating-systems

I mean...it's been working for me for years. I've been using WeMod/Wand since long ago. I doubt my OS would suddenly not meet the requirements

#

Plus just browsing through the several support threads, it seems this issue has been increasingly prevalent in March

FYI, tried the user profile thing, no luck there either

I see, well do you mind if we try clean reinstalling again? And try to look for any other residual files from Wemod. FrogePray

  1. Uninstall Wand via Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall Wand.
  2. Delete the following folders:
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Wand
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\SquirrelTemp
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\Wand
  3. Restart your PC
  4. Reinstall Wand by downloading it from: https://wand.com/download

Hey @minor marten, after attempting to load a game using Wand, mind pressing Ctrl+Shift+L in the app and posting the resulting log file here?

It may include your Windows username - if you’re not comfortable with that, please send to support@wand.com and we can continue there! Just mention this thread.
