#App window is going crazy.

was working fine a few days ago, but seems like the app is flickering rapidly and is basically unusable, i've tried disabling the beta overlay /etc but nothing seems to work. This is before i've even tried opening a game.

Anyone know of a fix? basically unusable at the moment as it isn't just visual but seems to be shifting buttons around constantly. (Used a phone to record it as recording it using software doesn't capture the flicker).

#

reinstalling doesn't help either, fresh install and it's flickering like crazy before i even log in.

3840x2160 / 60hz, and no, full screen or windowed it flickers. Last time i used it was 1st March and had no issues.

using 591.86 / released Jan 27th, this was working on sunday, so odd that drivers are to blame when they haven't changed since sunday and it was working then? will update and revert to see if that fixed.

C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\Wand\wand.exe --disable-gpu just gives 'file not found' as i cannot reinstall wand, as even the installer / login window flickers to the point that i can't use it

Updated to latest Nvidia drivers, 595.71, Released Mar 2nd, still doing it

You mentioned a fresh install before, could you try these steps but look for any wemod related folders as well.

Reinstall
  1. Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall Wand.
  2. Find and delete these folders:
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Wand
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\Wand
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reinstall Wand by downloading from: https://wand.com/download

I downloaded it from scratch and resintalled already

Please follow them thoroughly and try performing a disk clean up.

#

Please go through the reinstall steps again and look for any WeMod-related folders. Before you restart your PC, make sure to run a disk cleanup first.

I have followed all the steps again, i have removed wand, i have confirmed those folders do not exist, i have used disk cleanup to remove everything (temporary files and thumbnails always re-pops to 2/ 2.54mb even after cleaning)
I have restarted pc.
I have downloaded a new installer from wand.com using the link you linked. (Screenshot demonstrates each of these)
The issue persists.
Have noted that on the login screen it mainly does it whilst showing certain video - but doesn't do it when showing the remote mobile app clip or the automatic game detection clip.

Press Win + R, then copy and paste the line below and press Enter:
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\Wand\wand.exe --disable-gpu

(missing \ between Users and %username% ), have run this and this looks like its fixed it

Whoops! Good catch, sorry about that!

right click compatibility and try using disable fullscreen optimizations

#

i genuinely have no idea what im talking about ngl bro 💔 but just try messing with these

hasty pendant
#

That might've fixed it, disabling fullscreen optimizations (Again thing thats driving me crazy is that this was working on sunday, never had an issue before! and for it to just go wrong now makes no sense to me).

#

nope, only thing that seems to work is disabling the gpu on it

mild flare
#

failing gpu?

sharp path

#

Is a possibility, but again odd that it's only wand that has that issue, i played Resident Evil Requiem for 9 hours on 4th March and had no crashes, no glitches, or anything

#

(note that i didn't have Wand running at the time, i only turn Wand on when i actually want to use it)

mild flare
#

no idea

#

any other guess of mine would be wand failing to handle something

#

due to the way it was made

#

people have been complaining lately so i wouldnt be too surprised if that was the casae

#

would be curious if i could roll back to an older version and see if the issue persists

Some basic maintenance may clear this up a clean GPU driver reinstall, a general PC cleanup, and a Windows repair/check. Since this was working fine before and it was sudden makes me think its a driver issue even more.

#

Hey @hasty pendant I see you have a support ticket open in our emails, I'll go ahead and close that for you if you want so you dont receive duplicate responses.

i'm not going to do a full system rebuild just to try to fix a window glitching - but i'll bust out DDU again later and try a second go at clean reinstalling GPU drivers using a slightly different Driver version. For now i'll just play the game normally i guess x3
