Hey, first post, wow. So, no one's answered on the forums, and I've decided to come here to ask for help. When playing My Friendly Neighborhood, a few of us have experienced crashes while we traverse to a new area and Wand mods are loaded. Personal testing limited it to Unlimited Tape, Immortal, or Invisible, but further investigation said that it might just be an update issue between the game and the Wand mods themselves.

I have not since played or tested further, and the trainer's creator (Greenhouse) has not replied to replies to their messages in the forum. Wand Support Assistant has not helped, as these crashes happen even during administrator mode for both the game and the wand app, which is the main issue it tries to resolve. The other method says it may just be a version mismatch between mods and game, so I'm hoping that maybe the trainer creator (or an updater) can see this and update the mods to be in line with the newest version of MFN.

Hey there! Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the mods. Just checking, are you playing this game on Steam? Also, could you please let me know which specific area you’re encountering the crashes in? In the meantime, please try disabling the overlay and see if that stops the crashes.

but I'll try without the overlay again tomorrow (I remember doing that but I'll see if overlay kicks me out again)

Overlay might fix it, I'll end up playing more later.

It seems overlay was causing the issue. I loaded into a new area and no crashing.

To answer your query in order:

  • Yes I am playing on Steam, it's fully updated to 1.1.5
  • The areas I specifically was crashing with the mods on was anywhere before the aviary in game progression. So from the main building to the offices, to the sewers, into the garden for the first time, back from sewers to offices...
  • Disabling the overlay seems to have fixed the issue of crashing. Is there something that can be done about that where the overlay can be used WITHOUT crashing the game? Maybe an update to Wand?
