How do you explain to a 5-year-old how to spin Space Marine 2 with a wand?

I bought SPACE MARINE 2 and I'm really confused about how to use the WAND in this game. Even with the warning and everything, I didn't quite understand what I have to do and which mode it affects.

I bought the game this afternoon, followed the tutorial, and tried to open it with WAND... it didn't work. I tried downloading the "anti-cheat manually," but that didn't work either...

What should I do?

Just to know, does WAND only work in the campaign, or can I also progress by playing offline and leveling up my characters so I can play online later?
