#AC Valhalla crashing after hitting play (and activating a mod) in Wand

I know many people have reported this and I'll be just adding to the pile, but I can't find a fix anywhere either.

As the title says, when I'm in the game, alt+tab into Wand, hit play and activate a mod, the game crashes.

There have been two patterns for me:
In the first one, I'm in the menu when I go into Wand and hit play, always activating god mode first. When I go back to the game, nothing happens until I click "Continue" or try to load a save, as that's the point when it crashes.
In the second pattern, I load into the game save and wait until I can move around, press Esc and then go into Wand and hit play, activating god mode first again. Going back to the game, once I try to resume, that's when it crashes.

I have the game from Steam and running it completely vanilla

Hi @void rock, can you try disabling the Overlay on the Wand app by clicking the mod setting and check if the will still crash.

Unfortunately I already had overlay disabled entirely in the settings (exactly because I had issues with it in the past).

Hey @void rock, could you try disabling the Enable New Wand Overlay option? You can find it under Settings > Customization. Then check if the issue still persist.

Also, can you please provide the following information?

-Are you using any other mods alongside Wand?
-Are you playing in single-player or multiplayer mode?
-Do you see any error messages?
-Which specific mod options aren’t working or making your game crash aside from God Mode?

  • No mods, I'm running vanilla
  • Only single-player
  • No messages, just crashes, but it keeps running in the background as I can see from the task manager
  • All of them and none of them, as simply hitting play and then trying crashes the game

Also tried using the trainer through uplay since then, but the same happens

Reinstall
  1. Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall Wand.
  2. Find and delete these folders:
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Wand
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\Wand
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reinstall Wand by downloading from: https://wand.com/download

Before asking for help here, I did reinstall Wand once and nothing changed sadly.

Hello @void rock, appreciate your patience with us. Our testers were able to finish testing and unfortunately, we're unable to replicate the issue on our end.

Are you using any anti virus, other Overlays or third party modding tool along side Wand?

Not using anything besides Wand, and the av is just Windows Defender. I was doubting it'd be the issue since this whole problem only occurs with AC Valhalla, not a single other game.

Just right-click the app icon and choose Run as administrator. If a pop-up asks for permission, hit Yes, and you’re good to go.

Then try to load the game again.

If you haven't yet, can you please try loading the game and Wand on Windowed mode like in the recording?

Did all the above, but the issue remains on both.
Honestly I'm more than willing to let it go. I've been distancing myself from gaming anyway for a couple reasons recently, and I don't want to waste any of your and the team's time anymore.
