#Overlay doesn’t work and suggested fixes don’t work either.

The overlay used to work until the rebrand to wand now when I try and use it , it doesn’t work at all and the usual fixes such as reinstalling, deleting all remaining folders etc don’t work either.

Only the Xbox overlay works

Reinstall
  1. Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall Wand.
  2. Find and delete these folders:
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Wand
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\Wand
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reinstall Wand by downloading from: https://wand.com/download

AV Exception

It's possible that your antivirus software is causing interference. Try whitelisting or adding exceptions for the following folders:

C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Wand
C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Wand

Did all of that doesn’t work

#

Besides how ridiculous is this that the USER must fix the issue , the company really needs to look into a more permanent fix., no other overlay system has this issue except wand/wemod

#

Because even before the wand change every third game had to reinstall

#

Please look into a more permanent fix.

Please read what I initially posted , I explicitly stated that the suggested fix doesn’t work.

Hello @lusty mica

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. I just wanted to ask a few clarifying questions to better understand the issue you're facing:

When you did the clean reinstall of Wand, did you also manually delete all older residual folders of wemod such as those in AppData?

Have you uninstalled the old wemod overlay?

You mentioned needing to reinstall the app after every third game. That definitely sounds unusual and could indicate something system specific going on. While we do occasionally encounter overlay issues due to game updates or Windows changes, we usually disable the overlay temporarily in those cases while we work on a fix.

To help us troubleshoot further, could you please provide your PC specs and list any other programs you run that also use overlays (e.g., MSI Afterburner, Discord, GeForce Experience)? In our experience, these types of issues are often linked to corrupted Windows files, conflicting software, or outdated system drivers.

We’re always happy to work with users to get things running smoothly, but sometimes the root cause is beyond Wand itself. Still, we’ll do what we can to help point you in the right direction.

Looking forward to your reply!

# lethal jasper Hello <@818791658006249472> Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience...

Why I am inclined to believe it’s software specific is because it was fine for a good few months after a major update then after an update it broke again then it was fine by itself then after the wand update it broke again and all the fixes it did work stopped however I have been having this issue about 6-8 months now , so 3 months after I started using the software the issue started so there wasn’t an issue until the updates started massively changing things then I started seeing issues.
