#alt sticking after alt-tab to get out of games

this becomes extremely noticeable if I type C, because for whatever annoying reason, wemod/wand thinks something is assigned to a hotkey of alt-c regardless of what game I'm playing and the fact that I have hotkeys turned off.

note, the alt key isn't sticking anywhere other than in the wemod/wand app, and hotkeys are completely turned off in settings, yet the app still thinks the alt-C is assigned to something if I'm in a game and wemod/wand is running (at all, with or without any mods loaded on a game)

Thank you for that info, @supple perch . We’re actively trying to figure out what might be causing the issue you’re experiencing. Also, we just wanted to say a big thank you for sticking with us for so long we had no idea you’ve been around for that long! We really appreciate your continued support.

you're good, I appreciate the help!

did I mention that when I open it, it automatically tries to launch Dying Light: The Beast even though I haven't played that in over a month?

That is really strange. When was the last time you performed a system clean? I’m just wondering if a third party program might be interfering with the app. I’m still actively troubleshooting this with the team, as I haven’t seen this happen on a client version before. Also, Alt+C is a specific command on our end and not something we typically assign as a hotkey, which makes this even more unusual.

shrug I don't have anything else that looks for hotkeys, especially nothing that has audio triggers for hotkeys

Just a basic cleanup of AppData or any old residual files from the previous WeMod version might help. It’s a good step to rule out any leftover data causing conflicts.

Hey DadPool, really appreciate your continued patience while we dig into the issue you’ve been running into. Our dev team has been testing it using the latest version of the Wand app on a regular (non-creator) account. They tried all kinds of combos pressing Alt, Alt + C, and C inside and outside of games but so far, they haven’t been able to recreate the same behavior. It looks like this might be tied to a different kind of key event system than the one we use for regular hotkeys.

To help us get a clearer picture, would you mind trying a couple of things?

Try a different keyboard if you’ve got one handy this could help rule out hardware issues like a stuck key or random input. Share your OS, keyboard layout and any tools you’re using that might remap keys or change keyboard behavior things like accessibility settings or third party software.

We’re also still checking with a few other folks on the team to see if anyone else can reproduce it on their setup.

I've tried it on 3 different keyboards (thought maybe that was the issue) as well as remote desktopping into the machine via teamviewer and any time I alt-tab out of anything, the c chimes...

os is whatever win10 current OS is, with all updates in it, keyboard layout is standard US, (normal keyboard is a Corsair K100), and the only thing that might remap anything is icue, but it has no keyboard remaps, the only thing that's remapped on it is the middle mouse click is mapped to one of the side keys because the scroll wheel doesn't want to register clicks...

Just to clarify, are you hearing the mod activation sound when pressing C after alt-tabbing out of any program while wand is running, or does it only happen after alt-tabbing out of the Wand app?

Also, have you tried fully quitting your iCUE program and restarting your system (and making sure iCUE isn’t set to launch on startup)? Sometimes programs that remap or manage keyboard and mouse inputs even if nothing is specifically set can interfere with how key presses are handled.

Edit: Could you also send us a video with this sound?

# sleek hollow Just to clarify, are you hearing the mod activation sound when pressing C after ...

iCue is always going to run because it handles my LEDs on multiple devices, the sound settings on my headset, the DPI settings for my mouse, etc (have 5 different icue linked devices)... and the issue started about 2 months ago... also, the remap of that key for the mouse is fairly important since many games try to use the middle mouse button/scroll wheel click...

and it's any time wand has any mods running, when I alt-tab out of anything (especially out of the games) if I don't tap the alt key again.

I'll see if I can get a way to record the full system for you, not quite the easiest thing to do with 3 monitors with the main being an ultrawide display... no promises though lol

Hey Dadpool I’m really sorry you’ve been dealing with this issue. We’ve done quite a bit of testing on our end but unfortunately haven’t been able to replicate the problem. It seems to be isolated to your specific setup, which makes it difficult for us to provide any additional troubleshooting steps. I completely understand how frustrating that must be, and I want to thank you for your patience and all the time you’ve spent working with us on this. We’re genuinely sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
