#Black Screen App for Windows 11

Wand App for Windows 11 PC went black when switching over from WeMod. Went to the website and followed all the directions, used run as administrator, and even tried using your link in the support chat (which goes to nowhere), shut down my anti-virus…tried everything I could think of.
Each time I try to download the app again, I get nothing but a black screen?? I know the rebrand is taking place and it said nothing would or should change…it seems I must be unlucky I guess 😆 Would someone be able to assist with this - I feel I’ve tried everything! Even turned off my vpn …nothing. Appreciate all you do and please let me know how to fix this. Ty so much 🙏🏻

Reinstall
  1. Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall Wand.
  2. Find and delete these folders:
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Wand
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\Wand
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reinstall Wand by downloading from: https://wand.com/download

Unfortunately, I’ve followed all of the suggestions from multiple chats in support - it’s just not working. Tried making it an exception for antivirus and still nothing. Only now that I removed everything, the black screen doesn’t even pop up anymore - it just doesn’t do anything? Also using BitDefender for windows 11…might even remove that, if need be. Everything worked perfectly before the rebrand, so could someone plz help us out? Appreciate you! Ty

Could the vpn be causing issues?

Take that back - took that off too and still nothing when trying to re-download

This is usually caused by a graphics compatibility issue. To fix it, try this:
Press Win + R, then copy and paste the line below and hit Enter:

C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\wand\wand.exe --disable-gpu

I would thoroughly check bit defender and see if anything is blocking the app then try a clean reinstall again If the issue continues:

Uninstall Wand
Delete the following folders (if they exist):
** C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Wand
C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\Wand
C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\SquirrelTemp**
Restart your PC
Ensure Windows and graphics drivers are fully up to date
Reinstall Wand

The problem is, it's not even downloading to my pc?? When I use the download link, it will go into my folder, but nothing happens. When I had WeMod before the rebrand - it was working but when everything got switched over, the app would show up as a black (blank) screen. After removing all that, I can't even get it to download now. There are no remains of the app or links on my computer - they cannot be found. So when I restart, run as admin, and try to download the link from various browsers, I still cannot get anything to happen. The app will just not run, so that's why we're wondering if it could be on your end?
