A trapping that most people when they criticize change fall into, tends to be the very common - if disguised - argument of "But the LAST thing was better! I want the thing before it changed!"
I'm going to try and criticise without falling into that trapping, because if the branding is to change I'm not one to personally hold it back. Things should change, c'est la vie.
I have two problems with the new branding, the name and the color.
Firstly, I don't think Mod Manager when I hear "Wand". Frankly, I think of something a bit more explicit and a bit more naughty. The definition of what a Wand is has changed, and though I can understand it through the "With a wave of your wand, the experience is changed!" I think of the toy. Honestly, MagicMod or ModWand or something to the effect would've elicited something more positive, but the name needs to be reinterpreted.
Secondly, the color. The kind of green-ish yellow is painful on the eyes to look at for long amounts of time, and it feels far too sports-like. Videogames can and often do have sports elements, or are just about sports, but the tennis ball green color pains the eyes to look at. Something more subtle, like a dark purple or maybe a forest green, something that signals "Calm" or "Relax" might be better for a color.
I have no criticisms of the logo rebrand, however. I actually like it! It's sleek and modern, minimalistic but form and functional! A+ honestly.
Also, I only have one other criticism not related to the branding, and it's that "upcoming games" should be re-added to the sidebar next to your library. It felt weird when it was changed and I occasionally have to search through the main menu to try and find it when I wanna get excited for what you guys are updating.
Either way, besides the colour and name, good job on the logo redesign! I hope you guys keep up the good work and maintenance, and I hope your days are going well!
