Hello! You can revert this by using this mod.

It will take time, but the level should drop accordingly.

I tried again and for some reason Ryuji's Confidant Rank changed.
I haven't spoken to him yet, so I don't really understand the conditions.

I wanted to suggest a potential workaround. If the game has a save slot feature, you could try creating a new save game and then attempt to use the trainer to see if it works.
