#Games crashing / ''Mod(s) failed to update' / First cheat auto-disables itself when active

So I was playing Atlyss with WeMod, and I was messing with the 'Multiply Move Speed' hotkeys. Going faster, I had no issue. But going slower, WeMod started showing this 'Mod(s) failed to update' error.
And ever since then, when I try any game with WeMod, the game crashes. Also, enabling the first cheat before launching the game with WeMod, it.. disables itself and refuses to be re-enabled).

Closing out the game, I get a popup with: "We detected there were problems with some of the mods you tried to use."
Restarting WeMod (and my computer), and even reinstalling WeMod (cleanly)..., the issue(s) are not going away. Has my account been flagged for spamming the hotkey or something??
Also tried to add WeMod to my antivirus (yet I never had to before.. I had no issues before). I seriously think I got a black mark for spamming a hotkey, and I hope within a day (or a week) this black mark clears.
Yet this black mark isn't making itself known to me. The panel keeps reporting it being 'an issue' instead of telling me what actually happened.

And no, I haven't use the AI helper (and I'm not planning to as I cannot post (in detail) of the issues as I can in here). Please assist.

To assist you better, could you please share a few details? Feel free to skip a question if you've already shared the info.
-Where did you purchase the game?
-Are you using any other mods alongside WeMod?
-Are you playing in single-player or multiplayer mode?
-Could you provide a screenshot of the error message you received?

Hey there. To answer your questions (in order);
-This is affecting any Steam game (purchased legitimately) that supports WeMod. However I have only played (at the time before and during these issues): Atlyss, Rotwood, and Human Fall Flat.
-No, only WeMod.
-Originally when I played Atlyss, I was playing in Multiplayer (with WeMod) and I noticed the cheats weren't working. Switched to Singleplayer and they worked.
-In a way. I dunno how I can send you a screenshot of the first option in any trainer auto-disabling itself (and I cannot re-enable it) and playing a tone when it does do so. But the rest, yeah I can try.

#

Before launching the game (using Human Fall Flat as a test, and the issue is still happening). Both options are ON.

#

Launching the game.

#

The issue happens. I cannot describe the sound when it auto-disables the option (and plays everytime I try to turn it back on).

#

The error after I close out the game.

#

Now here's the true oddity. When I had played Atylss (this time in Singleplayer) and accidentally spammed the hotkey to turn off the movement speed, I was still able to play with WeMod. But the game crashed about 10 minutes after.

Then I went back to Rotwood, and the first option that claimed was disabled as it needs an update (the 'No Enemy Attack Damage'), was available. I launched, and the game crashed (but the first option for Rotwood for WeMod did not disable until I closed out the game and did it again.
....And ever since then, the first option for any game that supports WeMod is auto-disabling (as if that issue from Rotwood's WeMod trainer had gotten 'sent' to affect my account. Because I see noone else posting this issue. So it has to be on my end.
Only the top most option in all games that support WeMod, will not allow me to use it. It does not matter if I have the option disabled and run the game.. it refuses to enable itself. But I'm able to use everything else. ...Is there a way I might be able to 'clear my cache' of WeMod to fix this?
EDIT: Uninstalled Rotwood and reinstalled WeMod again. Tried Human Fall Flat.. issue persists. GAH!!!
EDIT2: I just tried another game (Sons of The Forest). ...This WORKS?! The first option is NOT disabling?? Is it just Human Fall Flat's WeMod trainer (all the sudden)??

And as I said, I have restarted WeMod (and my computer) and also reinstalled WeMod. The issue persists. It's inside of my account, and the only thing I have not tried yet is making a temp account to see if it truly is something in my account, or something in my computer. ...I do not want to think the latter. But I also would question; "HOW?!?!" (if that's the case).

Same 'Mod(s) failed to update' message when trying to turn back on Unlimited MP in Atlyss. And looking up the 'Mod(s) failed to update' issue, it claims my antivirus may be to blame.. I've NEVER had an issue with it in the past, but I've already added update.exe and wemod.exe to the exceptions list (and restarted my computer)... still the issue persists.
I'm out of ideas.

Updating this: tried creating another account, same issue. So it's definitely on my computer, maybe a cookie or something. Really would like to purge WeMod from my computer (a clean install)... something's being left over after uninstalling. Has to be.
EDIT: Did a CLEAN reinstall of WeMod. Used Windows to find everything WeMod on my computer and deleted it. Restarted my computer. Issue is still happening.

Really would like to know where's this 'priority support' that was promised for having Pro? Because it's been several hours with zero support responses (outside of the one I got earlier).
I don’t like being fed up like this, but something… anything would be nice instead of several hours of silence, with myself still dunno what the heck is going on (never once had an issue with WeMod).
It cannot be an account problem (which proves I wasn’t ‘flagged’), but somehow I broke something internally, and it only seems to be these two.
I need to test more games I’ve used WeMod on before, to see if WeMod’s having similar issues it never did before.

As for Human: Fall Flat, when you get a chance, could you please try running the game first before opening WeMod? Once the game has fully loaded, switch to WeMod, click Play, and then try the mods again. If you’re still experiencing the same issue, I’ll have it tested.

Got it. I’ll have both trainers tested and get back to you as soon as I hear back from the testers. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Thank you for the response. Looking forward to the results, and I know it's going to take some time.

So um.. update. Still don't know what's causing the issue (it's definitely something inside of my computer.. somehow), but I 'discovered' a workaround to the problem.
It's.. similar to what eimajamie suggested-- run the game then run WeMod. I was in a call with a friend (who tested the same games the same way I did with WeMod and didn't run into the problem) and tried to show the problem, but I did something different this time. I waited until the game was fully loaded, and then enabled WeMod, and then enabled the 'problem cheat'... and it worked. No error. 😲

I never had to do this before, WTF..., but sadly the results don't lie. I did 'something', but this is a workaround.
Could this problem still be looked into?

Thanks for sharing that info, Bernie! Issues like this can vary a lot, and the root cause could be anything from a corrupted Windows file to failing RAM or even an injection conflict. If you run into it again, try checking for any special launch instructions or use the same method you found letting the game fully load before tabbing out and clicking Play in WeMod as this is my normal launch process for most games. Some games do require specific steps, but this particular one doesn’t have any special requirements.

I would label it as ‘corrupted Windows file’, or maybe something in the Registry.
Though my friend had reported this issue happening to him with Risk of Rain 2, but said he used Steam instead of launching through WeMod and that fixed it for him.
