Basically title, but I just started up the app maybe 2-3 hours ago and was met with this infinite loading screen. I've already tried the troubleshooting steps of uninstalling it via the 'add or remove programs' in Windows settings, and then deleting the folder data in my local and roaming directories. I've restarted my pc and installed it using the link: https://api.wemod.com/client/download and still no dice. Just thought I'd post here before I go to bed and come back in the morning with more brain power to deal with this. Thanks! :D

Hi! Do you have any antivirus on your PC? Also, are you using any VPN?

It's possible that your antivirus software is causing interference. Try whitelisting or adding exceptions for the following folders:
- C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\WeMod

  • C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\WeMod

I do have the basic Windows Defender/Security and I've already allowed the app through it, and I do have a VPN, but its just on my browser and not for my whole PC.

ive left the app running in case it does end up loading fully, and this happened as well

#

just a black screen

If reinstalling doesn’t work, try this instead:

Press Win + R, then copy and paste the line below and press Enter:
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\WeMod\wemod.exe --disable-gpu

This will launch WeMod with GPU acceleration disabled, which should fix the visual glitches. Make sure to close WeMod completely before doing this.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Please remove the changes you recently made and follow the steps below:

This is how to modify CUDA/GPU Settings for WeMod app.

  1. Open the Nvidia Control Panel: You can usually do this by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting it from the context menu.
  2. Navigate to 3D Settings: In the left sidebar of the control panel, look for "3D Settings" and click on it.
  3. Go to Program Settings: Under "3D Settings," you'll see a tab labeled "Program Settings" on the right-hand side. Click on this tab.
  4. Select the Affected Application: In the dropdown menu under "Select a program to customize," find and select WeMod.
  5. Locate the "CUDA - GPUs" setting in the list of customizable settings. Click on the dropdown menu next to it. It likely shows your current GPU as the selected GPU. Change the selection to "Use these GPUs:"

Important: If your current GPU is the only GPU listed under "Use these GPUs:", do not select it. This will effectively set the CUDA - GPUs setting to "None."

  1. Apply the Changes: Click the "Apply" button at the bottom right of the Nvidia Control Panel to save your changes.
  2. Launch the WeMod app and check if the issue is resolved.

Hi! Sorry for the delayed response. Just checking, are you still seeing a black screen, or is it an infinite loading screen on WeMod? In the meantime, could you try reinstalling the app again? You can download it from here: https://www.wemod.com/download Also, could you let us know what GPU you’re using?

1.Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall WeMod.
2.Find and delete these folders:
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod

Yes, when you get a chance… By the way, what’s your operating system? And are you connected to the internet using Wi-Fi or Ethernet?

May I know what AV software you're currently using?

drowsy latch

Just the standard windows defender/security

tulip sun
#

Have you tried running WeMod as an administrator?

drowsy latch
#

I have, still no fix unfortunately

I’ve checked on my end and on another PC, and the installation was fast. It seems something may be hindering WeMod on your end. At this point, we’ve gone through all the steps and checks we can from our side. Have you tried connecting to a different internet connection? Also, have you used WeMod in the past?

I can try switching to my phones hotspot later, and it used to work perfectly fine

#

I also do have a VPN on my pc, I just havent used it in a while and I just found it earlier today

#

but I havent turned it on in ages, and WeMod still used to work when i turned it on in the past

just an update after finally getting around to it @tulip sun, i did a full reinstall of windows on my pc and the app still isnt working. I booted up my laptop and it works fine there, the app launches fast and runs games on it fine, but it just seems like it refuses to work on my pc for some reason

#

everything is still allowed in windows defender, ive reinstalled it again, etc etc, just seems like the app refuses to work on my pc for some unknown reason

tulip sun
#

Thanks for the update and for going the extra mile with a full Windows reinstall. Since WeMod launches and runs fine on your laptop but still won’t work on this PC after a clean install and all the usual checks, that points to something specific to this PC, rather than a WeMod app issue. At this point we’ve exhausted what we can troubleshoot from our side. sadge

just in case, i´ve had that happen in 2 scenarios:
a: app.asar file is corrupted
b: using an old/outdated install file.
