To assist you better, could you please share a few details? Feel free to skip a question if you've already shared the info.
-Where did you purchase the game?
-Are you using any other mods alongside WeMod?
70 / 5.000
I bought the game through Steam, no other mods are available
Just to make sure we're on the same page — since you mentioned that you added the game manually, could you please confirm if you followed the steps below?
Click Add game.
Click Add game manually.
Select the correct platform where you purchased your game, then drag and drop the game’s executable (exe) onto the given location or click Add game exe and select it from the finder window.
For example:
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\[Game Name]
I've tried all of that but it didn't help
This is noted. Please try to find and remove any WeMod-related files from your PC. Also, delete WeMod from the AppData directory and Squirrel from the temp folder. Then, restart your computer and attempt to reinstall.
Download and install the WeMod offline installer: https://api.wemod.com/client/download
Then try running the installer as an administrator to give it the necessary permissions. See if it helps.
Unfortunately the mods still don't work but the overlay
It's possible that your antivirus software is causing interference. Try whitelisting or adding exceptions for the following folders:
- C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\WeMod
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
I found the save path but I have no idea how to do it
To fix this, try adding WeMod to your antivirus or Windows Defender’s exclusions list. Even if you’re not using another antivirus program, Windows Defender might still be running in the background and interfering. Temporarily turning it off could also help troubleshoot the issue.
Do you mean if I search for windows defender, open it and add it there
Yes, that is correct.
doesn't seem to have helped either
I see. Can you try temporarily disabling any antivirus (AV) software you have running, then restart your PC?
Once your system is back up:
Launch and play your game for a few minutes.
Then open the WeMod app and check if it detects the game properly.
I don't know how to deactivate it
Just to confirm, may I know what AV softwares you're currently using besides windows defender?
Windows Defender is the only thing I can think of at the moment
To temporarily disable Windows Defender, navigate to Windows Security, then Virus & threat protection, and then Manage settings. Toggle Real-time protection to Off.
