Overlay (New and Legacy) not Working | Wand (WeMod) | Page 1

I've tried to use the WeMod Overlay on multiple games, both the old Xbox Game Bar and the new Overlay and they don't work.

The legacy overlay just shows "To access your mods in this overlay launch your game from the WeMod app". I've tried launching the games from WeMod, attached WeMod after, running WeMod as administrator. The blank window in the Win + G menu stays the same.

I've also tried the new Alt + ` overlay but no matter how much I try the hotkey the overlay doesn't appear. Pressing mod hotkeys does make a small graphic appear for which mods were enabled/disabled, but the Alt + ` doesn't do anything. I've tried enabling and disabling the new overlay, verifying game files on Steam, changing the fullscreen/windowed mode of the game, and adding exceptions in Windows Defender to WeMod and WeMod.Overlay.exe. The WeMod virtual assistant provided this diagnostic information:

Yea I am on Alt `, I have tried Alt W as well but the result didnt change

Just curious did you restart your PC after uninstalling WeMod? If not, please try that along with the following steps. If the issue persists, I'll bring it up to the team to see if we can replicate the problem.

1.Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall WeMod.
2.Find and delete these folders:
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
3.Restart your PC.
4.Reinstall WeMod by downloading from: https://api.wemod.com/client/download

Also my steam games are not installed on my C drive, if that matters

I've restarted and reinstalled WeMod. What is the best practice to try to ensure features working? Should I run WeMod as administrator? Should I launch the game with the WeMod Play button? Or run the game and then attach WeMod?

I would definitely try running WeMod as an administrator. Also, make sure no other overlays like GeForce experience or Steam are running, as they can sometimes cause conflicts. There aren't any specific launch instructions but you can try both methods. Personally I usually wait until my game is fully loaded before clicking play on WeMod.

Ok well I updated WeMod from a prompt in the app and disabled my NVidia and Steam overlays but the WeMod overlay still wont appear with either Alt ` or Alt W

I've submitted it for review anyways but i'm thinking it's something on your pc interfering with it.

i would just kill of any tasks not needed like discord, xbox, obs etc and just leave steam running.

Yea I just tried turning off all the windows defender services entirely and closing all the tasks I could with nothing but wemod and steam running and the pop-ups still occur but the overlay hotkey doesn't do anything

I decided to play some Monster Hunter Wilds today which was the first game I ever tried WeMod on and the overlay worked for the first time ever. Trying again now on Devil May Cry and it still doesnt work there

Hey Kosire, the overlay has been disabled for now. I can't say whether it will return, but if the issue is resolved, the option will reappear on its own.
