From what I know, the save files are in [Steam Install]/userdata/{Steam3AccountID}/1466060/ folder.

Manual saves actually cluttering save game folder with extra empty ...

I noticed after trying to do a backup of the save files. For a game that is limited to 100 slots, the numerical assignment has reach Slot_922 for me. After looking at it carefully I noticed a lot of them are empty folders.
