#WeMod not launching – v10.20.1 / No antivirus / Tried everything

Hello, wemodapp
WeMod suddenly stopped launching today. I’m using version 10.20.1, and this is the first time I’ve had an issue — my account is old and WeMod has always worked flawlessly before.

I don’t have any antivirus installed, I haven’t downloaded anything pirated or suspicious, and I’ve already added WeMod to the Windows Firewall. I’ve also tried running it as administrator, with all available Windows compatibility modes (Windows 7, 8, 10, etc.), but none of them worked. The app doesn’t launch at all — not even as a background process in Task Manager.

I suspected Epic Games and the Tomb Raider games might be related, since I noticed my Visual C++ redistributables were missing after installing them. I reinstalled all of them manually, but WeMod still won’t start.

I also tried several system-level fixes, including:

Adjusting DEP settings (Data Execution Prevention)

Changing virtual memory settings

Modifying environment variables

And a variety of other advanced tweaks...

WeMod is the only program that doesn't work — all the others run perfectly. PepeHands I Have Windows 10

Try Windows 11 or 12

#

Cause it works fine if not use task manager to force shut it down then reopen it

I only have Windows 10, and my motherboard doesn’t support any other version.

Try using task manager and stop the application

#

That's how I fix the mods

Try uninstalling it then go to the website and download a new file

I will try to check if any other drivers were removed.

That could possibly be the issue

Where did you install it from

#

It could be due to a new update that is messing with the launcher

1.Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall WeMod.
2.Find and delete these folders:
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
3.Restart your PC.
4.Reinstall WeMod by downloading from: https://api.wemod.com/client/download

Which AV do you use.

I don’t have any antivirus. I only have an emulator called "defendnot-loader" which does absolutely nothing — it just emulates an antivirus without consuming any memory or resources. It completely disables Windows Defender. So, I’m basically without antivirus, only this emulator.

That should have resolved it. I suggest uninstalling WeMod, restarting your PC, then running a system file check.

Open Command Prompt as Administrator
Run the system file checker In the Command Prompt window, type:
sfc /scannow
Press Enter and wait for the scan to complete.

Once done, check the results. If it reports any corrupt files and fixes them, restart your PC again.

That emulators probably blocking something

If you are familiar with Revo you can try to use that to make sure all remaining files have been removed

It’s very strange, but I’ll tell you that nothing worked for me. Squirrel opens a CMD window and closes immediately, creating a log, but WeMod doesn’t open or stay open. It doesn’t create a shortcut, and neither the version from the website nor the one you sent me worked. Maybe Microsoft or Epic Games changed something.

By any chance, does this app use UserOOBEBroker? That’s the only thing that was modified on my Windows yesterday that I know of.

#

I’m going to make a change by installing an antivirus.

Well, I removed all kernel-level anti-cheats and anything related to game anti-cheat systems, but it still didn’t work. I also saw a strange file that appeared today called RUXIM, but it’s from Windows Update -_-. I deleted all other data from today except the Windows Update files. The only thing left for me to try is installing an antivirus.

#

My conclusion is that I tested it with the same antivirus that used to work with WeMod, and I believe the problem is either with WeMod or Microsoft.
