I had to manually add the mod’s .exe file because the mod didn’t recognize that I had purchased it through Steam. When I launch the game via Steam, it gives me two options: DX11 or normal. I thought this might be causing the issue, so I selected the “normal” option and checked the “don’t ask again” box.

However, when I launch the game through WeMod, it opens two game windows: one that runs normally without the mod, and another that gets stuck on a gray screen. The gray screen window eventually crashes by itself. The one that runs works but without the mod.

What’s the solution to this?

By the way, I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled both WeMod and the game twice.

Hi! Try launching the game through Steam first, then load your save. Once you're able to move in-game, click 'Play' on WeMod and see if the issue happens again.

Hello, I just did what you suggested, but I'm still facing the same issue. After launching the game and spending some time in it, when I try to start the mod, it tries to launch the game again. However, the game it tries to open gets stuck on a grey screen and then closes after a while.

Try disabling the overlay, even if you're not using it. Then launch the game using Play on WeMod. Let me know if there's any difference.

Can you try adding -dx11 to the launch option for the game on Steam?

How to Add Launch Options (e.g., -dx11) to a Game on Steam

  1. Open Steam and go to your Library.
  2. Find the game you want to modify in the list.
  3. Right-click the game title and select Properties
  4. In the window that opens, go to the “General” tab.
  5. Under “Launch Options”, you’ll see a text field. Type in: -dx11
  6. Close the window — Steam will automatically save your changes.
  7. Launch the game through Steam
  8. Load your saved game and wait until you are in the game world
  9. Hit Play on Wemod
